Now we're halfway through the course, and it has built up from basic building blocks to more complex building blocks, and seems to be heading into more intricate inter-weaving of the basic and complex building blocks. The content is very clear and explanations easy to understand, making things feel as simple as Android app building could reasonably be.

I thought that overall the course was a good one. I began to get nervous that subjects like navigation wouldn't be covered, and I was surprised that the whole forward and back from activity to activity wasn't covered and amazed that accessing REST APIs and sending HTTP requests wasn't covered as it's such a fundamental part of app building and isn't likely to go away any time soon. That said I feel more confident now to go forward and build what I want to build. I felt it glossed over pieces of the Kotlin language as well, particularly when things got tough, but perhaps it's implicit that that kind of thing is something you look into yourself and it may have become rather dry if it hadn't. A mix of ways to do things such as .text or .setText left me wondering why that was the case, but in the end, it builds confidence, gives you a sense of achievement and leaves you wanting to explore the documentation yourself which is ultimately, whilst building your own apps, the point where you learn. I mean nobody ever really learned to drive until they were let loose on their own in a car, right?

Easy step-by-step instructions for building great apps with Kotlin on the latest Android Studio 11 (February 2021). Best course for absolute beginners, who don’t know the basics of coding.❤️❤️❤️

By Michel Prevost on 12/29/2020

This course is very far from complete and is too shallow in its courses. The firebase part does not work for me, although I have experience with Firebase with React. Also, the author does not answer questions, no hardware interface, Always uses empty activities, no debug. I stopped at lesson 138. I can't believe I paid 139.99 for this. I have had courses at 14.99 waaaay better.

By John Cowan on 12/26/2020

This should be the first course taken for anyone beginning in Android Programming with Kotlin. Everything is explained and easy to follow. I've tried a couple other tutorials and this one is so much better for a beginner. Thank you!!

By Jerry Ace Ferreria on 12/7/2020

I really loved how this course was organized, the text directions after each section is helpful especially I missed something while coding. Mashrur encourages the students to experiment and learn more. I will be checking out this course for the new contents.

By Kevin Grimes on 12/1/2020

Mashrur does a good job of explaining several key concepts in this course. I felt that the course ended rather abruptly, as the penultimate video is the beginning of a new project and he prepares to introduce fragments, but the next video is the conclusion of the course. I feel that a "Complete" course should include multi-"page" apps, whether that's in the form of fragments of multiple activities and intents. How many apps out there have only one screen?

By Evgeny Rahman on 11/25/2020

A great course by Mashrur! The pacing is perfect, and the detailed explanations are very easy to follow along with. If you want to learn Android development, I can't imagine a better place to start than this course.

By Andrew Eleneski on 11/23/2020

Very good course overall. Mashrur Hossain is obviously very knowledgeable and well spoken during each of the exercises. I like that Kotlin was utilized as the language here, although at times it seems to be more of a Kotlin teaching class with the benefit of learning Android on the side. There is an incredible amount of content here with more being promised, so if you want to learn Kotlin/Android, this course is for you. A few areas where hopeful additions/changes will be made 1. Missing Fragments. This is a little more advanced, but since the course title is 'The Complete Android 11 Developer Course' it would be nice to have. 2. I was excited about the Firebase content, but it winds up being minimal with a simple setup & retrieve data example. I know there is a ton to Firebase that could lead to an entire section or course by itself, but since it is mentioned, some sort of more fleshed out example would benefit here.

By Wentzel Coetzer on 11/20/2020

Another excellent course put out by Rob Percival and Mashrur Hossain from CodeStars. I'm only halfway through the course but as always with any of the courses I've taken so far from CodeStars it is clear, concise, to the point, and easy to follow, without any fluff and padding. I can highly recommend this Android 11 App Development course. Mashrur is once again doing a great job in presenting this course and his expertise in the subject matter shines through.
