Course Description
This course gives an introduction to the Pharmaceutical/ Life Science industry in a simple and visual style that is easy to understand. It shows how SAS is used as a tool to work with the vast amount of clinical data within this industry. The course takes you through an example clinical study sample data, and generate various Clinical Study Reports that are submitted to the FDA (in the US) or other regulatory authorities in other countries. You will not only hone your SAS programming skills but will also learn essential concepts needed to work in the Pharma industry in the areas of Biostatistics and Clinical Data Management.
After the introduction to the pharma industry and learning relevant concepts about Clinical Trials, the course takes you through a hands-on training exercise to build the very important and fundamental Clinical Study Report called the Demographics Table.
You will begin with a sample clinical study data in an Excel sheet, then you will import it into SAS, derive all necessary variables as shown in the mock table, and finally generate a clinical study report. All this will be done using guided SAS Programming steps with detailed explanations at every step of programming. At the end of this course, you will have learnt to work with Clinical Study Data, generate a real Clinical Study Report, and extend those steps to build other reports that constitute Clinical Trial submissions to the regulatory bodies.
Prerequisites: You will need basic SAS programming knowledge to work with code discussed in this course. You can take my course on SAS programming ("The Simplest Guide to SAS Programming") available on Udemy.

Aslam Khan
Hello there,
I'm Aslam, and I have a passion for unraveling complex concepts and transforming them into easily understandable visuals. My teaching philosophy revolves around the power of pictures – simple, illustrative images that help you visualize and truly grasp the topics at hand.
Why pictures, you may wonder? Well, our brains are wired for visual processing, and I firmly believe that the more senses we engage, the better we learn and retain information. By creating neural hooks through captivating visuals, I aim to make your learning experience unique, engaging, and unforgettable!
As a visual creature myself, I understand the immense impact visuals have on our comprehension. That's why I stray from the traditional slide-and-narration approach. Instead, I bring real-world objects to the forefront, associating them with the subject matter, and allowing your brain to forge those indelible connections.
My courses are all about interaction and immersion. Through interactive and visually engaging techniques, I breathe life into the material, enabling you to grasp even the most intricate concepts. My ultimate goal is to lead your eyes to focus on what truly matters on each slide, letting your mind follow through, and ensuring you thoroughly UNDERSTAND the topic at hand.

I believe the course provides a good overview of what is needed. Great place to start learning. Prior knowledge of SAS or at least some other language will go a long way, can get lost in some of the code as it is not thoroughly walked through. All in all, a great resource, I recommend!

Enjoyable course, little bit short though. I think some of the "correct answers" were not in fact the correct answers. The question about decimal places using the round function, the suggested correct answer was not correct Also the suggested answer for the hispanic active treatment group percentage wasn't correct. Also during the final assessment thing, the male to female split suggested answer was not correct. These errors in the supposed correct answers are frustrating and sloppy.

The course is organized and well taught. The description and details are helpful and to the point. There are a few technical glitches that occur during the time video is played and sometimes voice run over, and code is not displayed. The rating indicates the overall performance of the course.

There was a problem since lesson nr 25 while transposing data - variables from columns _1 _2 _3 doesnt match in real code and looks like this 1 2 3 and same error ocurs while coping the final code delivered at the end of the course and even more errors contains final code delivered from author and doesnt work -.-

This was a great case study for putting SAS skills together to create a quick, meaningful report standardized similar to several research studies. However, I would not consider a COMPLETE course for clinical trials, as statistical significance and executing hypothesis testing SAS would be common in clinical study reports.

This course from Aslam Khan rocks! I do recommend very much this course for everyone interested in SAS Clinical programming! Aslam is very oriented to let the student achieve the course objectives, and to understand him is very easy, because he has clinical and technical knowledge at the same time, leveraging both to add value to the course.

I was good course. It goes over a lot. I would strongly recommend having a basic knowledge of SAS, before doing this course. I would also suggest going over this course twice. It said two hours but in reality should take you at least four to five hours to fully understand.

Good stuff. Had a small issue towards the end where instead of columns _0, _1, _2 I got 0 1 2 without the underscore and then could not produce output with t_allstats (since I couldn't refer to column names, not even using '0'n). Had to rename the columns accordingly before moving forward.

This is a short course with a brief overview of the clinical research process for context. The bulk of the training time is devoted to the SAS programming required to build a sample statistical summary table that would be part of a Clinical Study Report. The teaching here is comprehensive for the example shown and provides real-world coding to perform analysis, converted data into usable format and generate a readable, presentable report. This course does require prior SAS programming experience. I'm coming at this training to refresh my SAS skills I've not used in years, yet I have a decade in data management and SAS programming for a CRO. I can attest that the programming gyrations to get an analysis table into a proper format is well represented in this class.
