All in all, an excellent course with some caveats: - You must be comfortable with Python. - You should have a rough idea of how a web app behaves. Flask is a microframework that allows you to create the famous Hello World! app in seconds. Obviously, that's useless, and you should start adding Database connections, security, roles, blueprints, administration, etc. Luckily, the Flask ecosystem has several packages to simplify those processes, and the course gives a good overview of the most common and useful ones. Some lessons, besides the ones already marked as old, are now outdated. AFAIK, Flask-User, Flask-Restless, and Flask-Uploads are no longer maintained, as well as some minor packages used in the examples (Flask now has a CLI interface built-in). But as long as you have the requirements.txt file, you can replicate everything. As with any course, play around with the code to grasp the concepts before moving forward. Some chapters have a nice intro video, and some do not, which is a pity since it's handy to have an overview of what we want to achieve. I believe it's worth every cent, and with some minor updates (e.g., restless API, swagger, Docker, and SQLModel), it would deserve a full five stars. Thanks Anthony.

Except the last part of the course where we were implementing our knowledge in practice in more-less real projects, the rest part of the course created a confuse in my mind. Firstly, this course is not for beginners. I have a solid background in programming (front-end, SQL / back and low-level program) and, even for me , strange examples which were used for explaining the flask architecture and functionality is very confusing. Chat GPT explained with much more better examples :3. But overall if you want to go deeper in flask and learn something new about flask - not back web development, then you can start the course. It is a unique course which covers all extensions in flask which can make your life easier, but you need to know why you are using it. Be prepared for multiple errors in your code due to this course's code is out of date. Be prepared for googling because teacher didn't explain the basic of what this or that extension is used for. You need a solid background in html/CSS, understanding of JS (Flask-SOCKET IO is about it), Understanding of ORM and SQL DB and its syntax, and a good base in python. Don't forget the requirements I mentioned above. Overall, not bad course. Thanks, Mr Herbert for this journey, but don't lie to people about for who this course is for.

The course content was incredibly well-structured, starting from the basics and gradually delving into more advanced concepts. The instructor's clarity and depth of knowledge truly stood out, making even the most complex topics feel approachable. The course's emphasis on best practices and standard modules was a huge plus. I feel much more equipped to develop robust and maintainable web applications using Flask after completing this course. Though lacking some ideas (self-referential db relations, internal relationships, large app structure problems, docker, unit-testing, production deployment etc.), overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this Flask course to anyone looking to learn or enhance their Flask skills. It's an investment that pays off not only in terms of knowledge but also in the practical skills you'll gain. Kudos to the author for instant responsiveness also and for putting together such an outstanding learning experience!"

I've taken around 4-5 flask courses and this is a MUST for anyone who wants to learn Flask. It covers a large range of things, including various packages. Anthony is great at explaining things in simple terms and is straight to the point. There's no rambling and no boring stuff! Some are complaining about the course structure but I personally think it's fine and I love how he does everything live, including troubleshooting and fixing his errors. The only thing is that some of the extensions are out of date but there are others that have replaced them and work exactly the same and at least you get to understand the concept of using different packages. The only thing that I think is truly missing from this course is how to correctly structure a larger app using blueprints but this can be learnt from any other course. I will definitely be buying any future flask courses from Anthony. Highly recommended!

I haven't made it all the way through the course yet but so far (through section 4) this course has been great! There are times that I watch the video before first (on a 1.5 speed) to understand what is happening before going back and doing it. I have been using python for years, but have basically no web dev experience and have wanted to create an app to track my workouts and nothing on the market does what I want as simply as I want without a hassle. Between a previous course and numerous tutorials, this has been the best route; wish I found it sooner.

Excellent Tutorial! Yes, it is an ultimate tutorial for Flask that I could find in Udemy. I've 20+ years of java related programming experience and wanted to kickstart my python related journey. I have done about 6 popular courses in Udemy related to Python, Django and Flask. I just saw this tutorial showing up and wanted to give a try based on the topics it covered. What a SURPRISE! This course fully engaged me (I skipped my sleep just to finish it, it was so interesting) and given me an in-depth knowledge on Flask. I had already started working on creating my real-life apps after completing this course in a marathon fashion for 2 days . Kudos to Anthony Herbert and I wish him the best and I expect more and more course from him on Udemy. If you want to get started on Flask and you have time for only one course, then just pick it up and thank me later without fail. Of course, this course is intermediary and above level and requires some other program prior programming experience for sure. The topics covered are practical, wholesome with some more hardening and additional features could be upgraded to real-life production deployment. What I liked the most is not a single second wasted on introduction, self promotion etc. Only at the end, I saw Anthony just mentioning his channel for email id example etc.

Udemy Should Give the possibility to rate some Courses higher than the usual 5 stars, because this course deserve 10! And this is way. I do have already 5 other Udemy's Flask courses (which are all great hopefuly) plus a bunch of other programming courses. But this course regarding Flask is by Far, and I mean by really far the best Flask Course. I just finish the almost 30 hours video (I basically just watch the whole course before do anything) and to be frank the content is overwhelming. Especially compared to other Flask courses (which I learnt a lot anyway), this is the most straightforward, direct to the point and complete one, is 100% Flask guaranteed. Other courses may teach you some HTML, CSS, Docker and other (not related) topic (which as beginner I appreciate) but they leaving you with a big question mark, and kind of lost regarding Flask. In fact I learnt more HTML and CSS (bootstrap) with the other courses than Flask. Another thing is that they use a lot of Flask packages but not explaining deep enough. So this is what this course offer: - Goes through Flask Basics (which covers pretty much everything that other courses do in the whole course) with no other packages, pure vanilla Flask - Initially will use pure sqlite3 vanilla basics concept, with no other modules in between (great to understand the concepts) - Goes through Flask API Basics - And Now the best part, it dedicates entire chapter for the most useful Flask packages (this I think is the most valuable thing), so basically is a Flask Bible, this is the list: .1 Flask_Sqlalchemy .2 Flask-WTF .3 Flask-Bootstrap .4 Flask-mail .5 Flask-Migrate -6 Flask Uploads. .7 Flask Login .8 Flask Admin -9 Flask User .10 Flask Babel 11. Flask Restless 12-Flask Socket IO 13. Flask Security - Also the courses is included with a total of ---> 6 Complete Projects!!!! So Conclusions: This course will give me at least an additional 60 hours of Work to go through all the content again and study it, but most importantly a life long reference for future usage, it's a Bible because I can tell, the way explains the packages makes you feel you actually can start using it (it goes and explain the usage of the best features fore each one). Another grat thing is that there is no HTML building, CSS or other no related topics. It comes ready with The HTML templates (which are downloadable and then it edit them with JINJA2, which is of course Flask related. Hence the content is 100% valuable and related to the topic (Flask), plus well explained, well separated and distributed, short and concise.
