Course Description
Women have unique strengths and challenges as they enter management positions. We live in a time with unprecedented focus on women in leadership. There has never been a time when so many companies and governments are working to help women advance.
According to McKinsey, 75% of companies have at least adopted principles of gender equality, while only 30 percent are implementing programs to help women advance. The gap between good intentions and good performance needs to be closed. Providing the practical skills that women need, and recognizing the unique challenges they may confront is the key to performance.
This course will teach you how to identify your strengths as a leader and eliminate your constraints. In addition you will learn how…
Deal with sexual harassment and micro-aggressions.
Achieve work-life balance.
Learn how to be assertive while avoiding aggressive behavior.
Network your way to success.
Communicate and listen more effectively,
Know how to handle difficult conversations that are unique to women in organizations.
Understand the female ambition penalty and likability paradox.
Manage your boss.
Develop a cohesive and productive work team.
Increase your confidence and likability.
Think like an executive with a strategic view.
This course is the result of extensive research on women in management as well as more than thirty years of experience in both the academic and business world.

This course should not be marked as a 2,5 hour course. It take much longer to do the exercises and watch all the other additional videos.

This is a tremendous course for anyone - particularly women but men as well - who is striving to succeed in the business world. I LOVED the introduction of the "Johari Square" which I had never heard of - and there are many many unique and enlightening gems like that in this course. Highly recommended.

Dorothy's presentation is easy to follow and filled with good advice. I especially like her advice about how to ask questions of a person who might be triggering you. Try asking with a curious voice instead of a hurt and angry tone. I think this is especially important training advice for women and men.

Dr. Marcic speaks with a wealth of experience in management leadership to share valuable information to women who want to use their knowledge and skills to move up the chain of leadership within their company. I really was impressed with her Rules for Group Discussion. If everyone working in groups did as she suggested, teams would be more empowered to move forward with their agenda. The arguments she gives are logical and persuasive. The supporting documents that go along with the videos are valuable and compelling. The quizzes at the end of sessions are a good indication that the concepts outlined in the videos have been assimilated.

This course was a surprise to me, but I quickly realized that's definitely in my wheelhouse and I find it so very interesting.

It is obvious that Dorothy has not only been studying the issue of women in management for many years, but has also lived it! She has experienced many of the challenges faced by women at work and has presented the lessons she has learned in a comfortable and credible way. I think this is helpful for both women and men working with women.
