There was nothing advanced concerning these topics. I read the description regarding the course and assumed a much different quality. Again, this was all very basic, very surface level.

This course takes you through each section for creating this scene with amazing detail. You not only learn how to create the Earth model and texture it, you also learn how to create the space capsule in Blender and the textures in both Photoshop and Illustrator. Then, you take the model into Element 3D, set it up and begin the animation process. Most tutorials of this type do not include this level of information and detail. Of course, this is a more advanced set of lessons and it does assume you are familiar with the software discussed. Excellent tutorial. Very clear, concise direction and very achievable results. Highly recommend this set of lessons.

A lot of valuable information, tips and techniques to understand the art of compositing and more broadly, VFX.
Moreover, this course is really easy to understand if you're past the beginner level and not only will you be familiar with all the tools, but you'll also see some of their original intent used in different contexts.
