Coastal Ecology deals with the diversity of life and the organization of various forms of habitats -- from terrestrial (middle) to aquatic ecosystems. Ecology, which means "study of environment" or "house" in Greek. This is the scientific study and analysis of interactions of organisms with their environment.
In this course, Coastal Ecology, explores the biotic and abiotic factors that affect coastal communities. This course explores the main coastal habitat types in depth with physical factors, tropic levels, and the flora and fauna that inhabit these ecosystems. Human influences and effects are discussed for each habitat type and the overall health of coastal environments, as well as their long term conservation and protection

Jennifer McCarthey Tyrrell is originally from Northern Virginia and relocated to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University to attain a B.S. in Biology and Marine Science. She then relocated to Charleston South Carolina to attend graduate school at the College of Charleston and earn her Master's in Environmental Studies. Currently she works with The Center for Birds of Prey as their research coordinator and with American Public University as an online instructor of Biology. With A.P.U., she teaches undergraduate biology, environmental science, and ornithology.

Poor lecture style. Pictures and supporting info poor

Very interesting but could be broken up into sections with a question review after each section. Coral bleaching section did not have sound.

It was really interesting and informative! However, I'm not sure if it's just me but a third of part 10's audio was corrupted (The last part) so I couldn't hear what the presenter was saying. Also, there could have been a quiz at the end so that the viewer can consolidate their learning and see which parts they don't understand well enough yet. Thank you!

yes. I'd like to add that a few minutes before the end of module 10, the video becomes corrupted and stops, and even skipping over the stalled section, the audio is missing.
