There's a lot of focus on theory, which is nice, but there are very few practical exercises which this course could greatly benefit for. I complement my learning here with self-generated practical exercises.

It has been a good match for me. Knowledge on health economics and resource allocation is vital for policy maers to help prioritize health interventions for maximal societal benefit. While learning through health outcomes, costs, benefits, opportunity cost and analysis of cost effectiveness its helps in determining right policy for maximal health intervention amidst declining resources especially in the 3rd world. Reforms in Health from countries continues to show the changing patterns of healthcare especially in bid to curtail the rising cost of healthcare while resources continue to constrained while also ensuring adoption of healthcare tehcnology that gives maximal benefit. NHS is UK is a prime example of how social-based reforms in healthcare can help ensure citizens get quality healthcare and not suffer catastrophic health expenditure. THE ACA in USA while almost being looked at partisanly offers opportunity for a multi-polarised approach to evaluate and effectively change the rising costs of life-saving medine, procedures and emergeny care such as ambulance costs. This course has been an eye opener on proper sustainabe healthcare funding to address rising inequalities in healthcare among minorities in 1st wold nations. A more objecive approach is needed to better outcomes both economically, clinically and patient reported outcomes.
