Course Description
Have you ever wondered why batteries explode? How why we don't have more electric vehicles? Or just wanted to know how batteries produce electricity? This class will teach you fun and useful facts about batteries that you can use to impress friends and family. If you want to know more, it will also give you a simple but comprehensive overview of how batteries work.
At the end of this class you will be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of how batteries work.
- Be able to understand important concepts in batteries such as current, voltage, and energy density.
- Describe different types of batteries and their applications.
- Understand what lithium batteries are and how they differ between them.
- Know some fun facts and resources to expand your knowledge on batteries.
The class is composed mostly of lectures and videos where I explain interesting facts about battery technologies. The course is designed so that with each section you go deeper and deeper into knowledge. If you are new to the battery world you will start from the very basics. If you have some advanced knowledge of chemistry you can skip some of the initial lectures and go into more advanced sections.
Join the class and improve your knowledge on the technology that powers our world. No previous knowledge required!

he is explaining anything with the simplest way, so the things are very complicated till you listen to him, he is even making one of the most difficult classes much easier for us, thanks for anything.

At the beginning, instructor said that course could be beneficial for engineers as well, but as an engineer content was not enough. More details could be added for example thermal calculation of high discharge case or electrical charecteristic under low temprature condition.

As my expectation am unable to get difference between Solar battery, EV battery, or available battery difference as compared available type of battery.

Really good introduction to the Batteries such as Li ion batteries. I learnt energy density and cell calculations from this course. Also I learnt introduction of Anode materials, Cathode materials, Separators and Electrolytes. But I believe it is better if this course has more details. And also it is better if this course has more details about Solid State Chemistry and Solid State Batteries. And please add some Activities of making a simple solid state battery in to this course.

The course was well presented, clear and concise. I would have enjoyed a bit more of an explanation on the purpose/ use of the various kinds of batteries, but very informative none the less.

I learned a lot about battery technologies in this course, and it opened my eyes to the complexities of storage devices. I look forward to following this technology as it progresses in more useful ways, and this course gave me the tools to do so.

Nice facts, and interesting vision on how innovation around batteries have been itself a limiting factor on innovation in a greater scale. Also, very interesting vision about how integrating batteries within circuits and sensors itself would drive a real quantum leap in the industry.
