Black Metal Guitar Mastery (Udemy.com)

The course is very good, I am looking forward to working on these exercises and following the videos instruction over the next few months to build my guitar techniques in the various riff types that are part of Black Metal. I recommend Dev Gohil courses, and YT channel. He has my favourite Black Metal instruction materials. He is a cool bloke also. I initially rated it a 4 due to the fact the videos are not downloadable. But further reflection I updated it to 5, the reason was that the price is cheaper than a single lesson (39 AUD for 30 mins at local music store). So considering that it is very good value.

From all the courses I've been going through, this one is far far the best! Not just for BM, but it teaches you crucial techniques for any type of music (rhythm, correct timing) and most importantly, slow approach at first. Also, it has simple structure and only 10 lessons but all are musically applicable. For sure is good that prior to that student learns music theory like intervals, how chords are made and chords shapes. For me its easy to follow form this perspective. Advice, start really slow as Dev said. That most common mistake for all of us I think. Will buy 2nd course for sure. Plus guy is really good teacher!

This guy seems like a typical black metal musician: Very talented and super nice. Haha. Where he breaks expectation is by being a very good teacher as well. His progression is easy to follow, tricky to master, as it should be. I can see myself getting better, faster and more proficient with each level I focus on. It's exciting I could not ask for more. Great course! Very well explained all of the lessos, shows you what to do and how. I will love to have more courses from you, mainly showing more tremolo picking and more chords and some black metal theory on how to make a full songs. Thank you!

I was planning to finish the course before reviewing but I'm only on the second lesson and I've already improved my playing. Big improvement in strumming & chord changes after a couple of day's on the second lesson. Thanks Dev!

My playing is MUCH more consistent and clean after having gone through the lessons and making practice routines out of the exercises. The exercises are so varied that the techniques you learn can be used for any style of metal, not just BM. Something Dev does really well is providing you with the motivation you need to really push yourself to play fast, clean, and fierce. Highly recommended for intermediate-level and above guitarists, though beginners could definitely benefit as well by playing the exercises at lower tempos. Really looking forward to future courses.

iv been watching this guy for ages i practically learned how to play black metal from him. iv been playing for 12 years, and now im in a black metal band and play guitar and vocals. I deffently recommend buying his corse because im learning more then his youtube videos!!!!

The instructions come short and to the point, what makes me appreciate his art of teaching. I assume most sections will be easy to pick up for intermediate (or just the more experienced) players - probably makes it perfect for beginners - yet those last bunch, yes, I am looking at you Part IX, are quite the challenge for me ... Overall great fun, good riffs with proper technique to improve on! The resources work and sound great, too.

Tons of gathered experiense in 10 short courses! From technical point of view it addresses to all metalheads! In all levels it has something to say. Bigest advantage than youtube videos, is that it gives a clear guidline about how can you build up speed and "clean" aggressive playing in various types of riffs Other heavy - metalers may find out what is the difference in black metal concerning chord progression and feeling, and of course NO SOLOS!!!

Great coarse so far, the backing tracks great and having the riffs steadily increase in difficulty is very helpful for finding what i need to practice
