This course will teach you how to successfully manage projects as a Business Analyst!

The fact is, not every project can have a dedicated Project Manager. Sometimes the project is simply too small, or doesn't provide enough value to warrant the overhead costs of another dedicated team member.

As a Business Analyst, having the necessary skills and techniques to successfully manage your own projects dramatically increases your value to the company, thus putting you in a great position for future promotional opportunities.

I am also taking this instructor's Business Analyst Fundamentals course. I find them both to be very good, and there is some overlap of the material. I enjoy Jeremy's personality, and I can tell that he really enjoys helping others learn and giving them the tools to help them progress in their careers."  -Samantha B.

"Excellent...just what I need!" -Syed

Come learn with more than 750,000 students from around the world!

Hello! My name is Jeremy Aschenbrenner, but many know me better as The BA Guide, and I'm happy you are here.

I’m a veteran Business Analyst with thousands of projects completed throughout my career. I've managed business analysis projects for companies in diverse industries including health care, telecom, automotive, transportation, consumer packaged goods, car rental agency, food and beverage, financial services, consulting, and more.

Through personal experience, I quickly learned that business analysis can be confusing and even intimidating. There’s endless business jargon, technical terms, techniques, and methodologies to learn, and countless visual diagrams, artifacts, elicitation sessions, interfaces, and KPIs to wrap your head around. I’ve been there and learned all of that. Many years ago, I also learned a valuable lesson about myself: I really enjoy teaching others. This was the inspiration for The BA Guide.

It is a very useful and good understandable course with wonderful explanations about project management. Maybe what I personally missed were more project management examples of tecniques and tools which have been used to manage the three most important project pillars: time, budget and quality.

By Daniel Fasanya on 3/30/2021

I like this course because it dealt with topical areas required of BA to manage a project and then into substantial details and requirements for these topical areas; fit for purpose. This course is also quite explanatory and brings the learning the life with hands on exercises. In addition, it’s a course you can always reference and refer to at each stage of your project to serve as a guide. Finally, anyone new to project management can take advantage of this course and gives them a good overview especially if some technical project management skills aren’t required for their project.

This course was very useful for me. I work for a small government bureau with a very small IT unit which means as a developer I often wear many hats, including Business Analyst and Project Manager. The content Jeremy covered in this course, and the templates created as course work, will be put into use immediately on an upcoming project I will be starting next week.

By Tabasam Adrees on 3/16/2019

Simple, clear, easy to understand and broken down into small lectures means I can watch these whilst travelling and whenever I have small chunks of availability. I am new to Project Management and feel this gives a comprehensive walk through all the stages of a Project without any technical jargon. Really good intro for new PMs not just business analysts! Thank you Jeremy!

This is another great course from business analyst par excellence Jeremy Aschenbrenner. He does a great job of logically arranging the content so that the student can easily see how it links together, and conducts informative walkthroughs where he explains his reasoning process for each method he teaches. As always, Jeremy includes a series of helpful activities to give the student a chance to try out his or her new skills. Keep up the good work Jeremy!

By Nabin Yonghang Limbu on 2/2/2018

I got the basic insights on managing, controlling, facilitating a project from operational, business and communication stand point of view which was very beneficial for me. However, I know Jeremy was focusing us on coming up with our own templates but it would be very nice if we could get a glance of the standard template which experienced guys like Jeremy from the industry has been using in his projects. Besides that, everything was fantastic. Kudos to you Jeremy.

By Nazariy Hrynda on 12/4/2017

I found this course out of many others similar ones because of reasonable amount of lectures. I was in the phase of starting a new project and had many unresolved questions how to do things in the best way, but also I had a very limited time. The course is well structured, and does not have long and boring lectures, so that student won't loose attention and get all information needed. A many real examples are very helpful during the lectures, as well as exercises with templates. I believe this is a very good base for the engineers to start, and Jeremy can really help you with this!
