From the course Creator:
ChatGPT and AI are becoming increasingly important tools for public relations and publicity professionals. With the rapid advancement of technology, the media landscape is constantly changing, and PR professionals must adapt to stay ahead of the game. ChatGPT and AI provide PR professionals with the ability to automate repetitive tasks, gather information, and generate insights, all while saving time and improving the effectiveness of their campaigns.

One of the key benefits of ChatGPT is its ability to generate press releases, social media content, and responses to media inquiries quickly and effectively. This allows PR professionals to respond to media inquiries in a timely manner, and anticipate and respond to potential questions from reporters.  Additionally, ChatGPT can be used to generate talking points and key messages, and gather information and insights relevant to PR campaigns.  This helps PR professionals to tailor messaging to specific PR needs and reach the right audience with the right message at the right time.

Another benefit of ChatGPT is its ability to generate headlines and subject lines that are relevant, attention-grabbing, and optimized for search engines. This is particularly important for PR professionals, as headlines and subject lines are often the first point of contact for potential customers or clients. ChatGPT can also be used to generate a comprehensive list of questions for press packets, helping PR professionals to anticipate and respond to potential questions from reporters.

AI is also becoming a key tool for PR professionals. AI-powered tools such as natural language processing and machine learning can help.

Each section features multiple lectures, visual walkthroughs, and real-life examples that enhance the lesson. In total, the course includes 28 lectures and runs approximately three hours. Til this moment - asking chatgpt - straightforward, but nothing informativ or new, not even showing a system, where and how this would fit the bigger picture

By Randy Spoon on 4/5/2024

Plugs his own products/services and the fact he has a Guinness record multiple times throughout. If you wade through his thinking out loud and ego, there are a few takeaways worth something, but nothing that you'd expect from a media relations course around ChatGPT. He doesn't explain why a prompt is the way it is which would have been helpful. Anybody who views this should come with an understanding of what ChatGPT is/does, because he really doesn't explain it.

This is a very disorganized class of just watching the instructor play around with ChatGPT. It looks like it was shot in one continuous take and could have been half or a quarter as long if it had just been organized. The instructor came across as unfocused. One positive thing I can say about him is that he keeps his energy levels up throughout. The addition of new material to keep the course up to date is useful, but diverges from the original scope of the course. If the material could have been condensed into 45 minutes this would have been an ideal, at two hours I felt like my time was not being respected.

Information about using ChatGPT to create headlines, pitches, and Q&A (FAQ) lists was outstanding and insightful. However, too much time spent watching the instructor type various things, and too often he tells us his opinion of ChatGPT’s responses (evaluating their worthiness for messaging) or using its responses to craft hypothetical messages – when that’s not really the purpose of the training.

I love seeing the detailed questions for Chat GPT in action. Coupled with his amazing experience in PR, this is a game changer for sure! The tutorial and tips for creating headlines and getting in touch with media is on the spot! Most of the PR professionals dance around the process, but here you get all the action steps from beginning to end with visuals . Priceless!

The overview provided by Jess really showcases the practicality of ChatGPT for public relations professionals. From whole press releases to pitch points to headlines - all the major elements we need to generate on a daily basis - he highlights the benefits of using ChatGPT and the limitations to assist in our profession. I also learned to use the tool for potential research and idea-generating options, which I never would have thought of!

By Jane Tabachnick on 2/5/2023

Great tutorial on how to use ChatGPT for PR. The benefits are twofold - an easy to follow look-over-the-shoulder as Jess walks you through the different ways to use ChatGPT for PR, and the why behind each use. He shares how he thinks as a PR professional and former TV producer, which is very valuable and feels like an added bonus.
