Course Description

Why I created these mock exams

Over the years, I have helped thousands of students prepare for cybersecurity certification exams. Before they spend their hard-earned money on the CISSP exam, I always advise them to solve plenty of multiple-choice questions first. Being able to answer practice questions easily and quickly can demonstrate a strong understanding of concepts, a key trait that helps students ace the CISSP exam.

However, simply solving questions from a variety of sources won’t cut it. For your preparation to be effective, the practice questions must be well-written, challenging, and must test your understanding of concepts at a deeper level. And those are the type of practice questions you’ll find in these mock exams.

What’s new

I’ve updated the weightages of the mock exams based on the latest CISSP Exam Refresh that came into effect April 15, 2024. The weightages for the mock exam have been updated as follows:

  • Security and Risk Management: 16%

  • Asset Security: 10%

  • Security Architecture and Engineering: 13%

  • Communication and Network Security: 13%

  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): 13%

  • Security Assessment and Testing: 12%

  • Security Operations: 13%

  • Software Development Security: 10%

What’s Included

Designed to help you ace the CISSP CAT exam, you’ll find two comprehensive mock exams, each containing 175 questions. Each mock exam covers all 8 domains with average weights similar to the CAT exam.

Since the weights for the CAT and Linear exams are similar, these mock exams will help you prepare for both formats.

In addition to the mock exams, you will also find two “Rapid Review Sets” designed to help you practice when you don’t have enough time to attempt a full mock exam, which takes around 6-7 hours to complete.

What Makes These Mock Exams Different

These CISSP mock exams stand apart from the competition for their meticulous breakdown of questions according to exam weightage. Each question is carefully categorized according to the correct domains specified in the CISSP exam guidelines, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate representation of the exam.

What Makes These Questions Different

I’ve worked closely with Packt to ensure each question meets the same rigorous quality standards as all of Packt Publishing’s books and courses. Moreover, most of these questions include a unique scenario that tests your understanding of CISSP concepts rather than just checking your knowledge of definitions. Here’s an example question from the mock exam:

A contractor was brought in to develop a banking application. They are aware that some clients may attempt to withdraw money in excess of that which exists in their accounts. As a security measure, they enforce a code to secure the application. Which type of software testing can they apply to be sure that the application is secure?

Questions are amazing. I would suggest to increase the difficulty level. Presently Question are easy and answers are obvious. Morover, questions are not focusing on risk based approach which CISSP exam required. Difficulty level is low, mindset is absent, answers are obvious. Suggested to focus on questions

One of my colleague who has already passed CISSP shared this course 2 weeks before exam. if you think you have done your preparation and are ready for exam. you must try these hard set of questions. i am sure these scenario based questions will surprise you. I got 65% in the mock and i was happy about it coz these are difficult ones. Real exam is a surprise because its a CAT style with dynamics bases on correct answers. For me real exam was a different game altogether. even after practicing like 5K plus questions sets i was getting shivers down the spine. I think i passed the exam because i had trained myself with lots and lots of question. Remember reviewing your questions is very very important. Note for author: Few questions have wrong answers and english at times feels improper. Finally thanks to the author's effort for bringing this thrilling set of questions.

Found it Comprehensive and worthy investing time. Helped me identifying my weak areas and some concepts which I have overseen but are really important for the exam. Very nicely framed mock tests, much recommended!!! Thank you gwen..!!

Very good course. One of the biggest issues people come across when taking the CISSP is they're answering as if they're a SOC Analyst / Engineer. I listened to this course the night before to help me get into the mindset of a CISO, which is the point of view you should typically answer CISSP questions from.

Even though i passed this, there is error in question: Question 42 Incorrect An organization continuously employs various security controls to safeguard its valuable assets from inappropriate use, access, modification, or disruptions. Moreover, the organization strives to achieve the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) objectives of information and information assets. Which of the following is the BEST control to achieve unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information in the organization? Authentication system Access control Your answer is incorrect Hashing algorithm Correct answer Encryption technique Overall explanation option 4 is correct. The primary objective of secure encryption is to protect against unauthorized access or disclosure of information in an organization. Option 3 is incorrect. The cryptographic hashing function is a security measure that would help the organization achieve data integrity by preventing unauthorized modification of information, but not unauthorized disclosure. Option 1 is incorrect as authentication plays a crucial role in preventing the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data, and that is secondary to encryption. Option 2 is incorrect. Access control prevents unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data in the form of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), but it is not the best control. The question specifically says -TO ACHIEVE UNAUTHORIZED DISCLOSURE - Which of the following is the BEST control to achieve unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information in the organization? That is way i picked hashing , as it will not prevent disclosure , and we want to achieve unauthorized disclosure.... Overall , test is quite good. Thanks, BR

Great Questions. Provisionally passed the CISSP exam on 3/22/24 with the help of them. These questions were instrumental in filling in knowledge gaps with the detailed explanations of correct and incorrect answers choices. Questions are asked and answers are explained in a manner to help develop the skills necessary to apply existing knowledge about subjects, encourage logical deductions and inferences, and identify relevant information provided in the question.

Some really good questions that made me think deeper than previous exam prep tests, however the grammar and wording on 3-5 of them would be considered poor and confusing. There are also at least 2 answers that are just stone cold incorrect. All in all, worth my time.

Thank you @Gwen for such wonderful collection of CISSP questions. I passed CISSP, today @125 question mark. Undoubtfully, this practice set is very relevant and most reflective of the exam mindset. This is far far better that the OSG and other material in the market. Thanks once again for all your contributions @Gwen.

I found the two 175 question exam sets quite challenging and beneficial in my exam preparation as they allowed me to gauge how long it would take me to complete a full exam. The majority of the questions are scenario based and require more than superficial knowledge of the exam objectives. The question explanations were also helpful, but they could use a bit of formatting - most are blocks of text, even though some text has bullet points.
