Course Description

Hi, welcome to the "Cloud Ethical Hacking : Use Kali Linux on Amazon AWS" course. The only course that you need to start running Kali Linux and ethical hacking tasks on Amazon cloud!

There are a lot of options for ethical hacking & penetration testing training, but this course is designed in a way you can practice newest & best techniques on ethical hacking. Here is why:

  • Instead of using your own host device, you will learn how to boot & run Kali Linux entirely on the Cloud.
  • You can use any browser to access your Kali Linux.
  • You will have an ethical hacking lab entirely on the cloud. This includes a Windows victim machine as well.  No more cpu & memory problems, no more virtual machines in your local device.
  • You won't have to spend a dime up to 1 year as you will use Amazon AWS Free Tier account for the entire training, provided that you take good care of the running instances to stay under the free limits. I will show you how you can do that.
  • You can access any Linux or Windows machine, directly within your browser. You can continue working in any PC and don't lose the sessions.
  • You can save the entire screen like a movie so that you can show it as a proof of actions. You can later watch these screencasts to improve your skills.
  • You will practice nmap, metasploit, included in the course! Even if you are a complete beginner in cyber security and ethical hacking, or you want to refresh your skills, you will enjoy the course.

Furthermore, you can apply the skills in many hosting providers or even your own server! Amazon AWS is not the only option here. This is because some of the skills in this course is beyond the topic of ethical hacking.

The practical skills you will learn after you complete the course:

  • Current limitations of an ethical hacking lab
  • Benefits of running your VMs in the cloud
  • How to create an Amazon Free Tier account
  • How to run Kali Linux as an Amazon EC2 instance
  • EC2 dashboard management
  • Alternative terminal operations: A handy chrome extension for SSH sessions
  • Installing xRDP to Kali Linux. This is also useful if you intend to use GUI with any Linux machine
  • LXDE and XFCE session types
  • Running a Windows Server as an EC2 instance, which you can use both as a victim or an attacker machine.
  • Install Guacamole tool to access & operate any server using your Browser
  • Nmap basics to which helps you to start scanning in no time.
  • Metasploit commands to send exploits to vulnerable machines.
  • Exploting a vulnerable application on Windows Server/

In a nutshell, by the end of the course, you'll be able to create your own Ethical Hacking Lab on Amazon AWS cloud from scratch, using the latest techniques which black hat hackers use to penetrate systems remotely. Better than that, it won't even take an hour to start running your machines.

The lecturer missed several critical steps. Namely how to connect to the newly connected Kali instance with qn SSH client like PuTTY and how to update the sources that apt-get looks for when installing packages. As an experienced linux user I was able to figure this out for myself but I think it would have been helpful if the lecturer had included resources on these topics and not expected the inexperienced user to google for this crucial information.

Do not waste your money or time on this course. The material is outdated and you have to do a lot of research to fix the problems. Also, the instructor does not answer any questions. I assume the instructor is no longer monitoring the course. Many of his examples simply do not work. And he forgets to warn you that if you are not careful, you could in up racking up significant charges with the AWS setup ($380.00). This is the first time I have had to give a one star rating to a course. The unfortunate part is that the course could work if he had a serious makeover and the instructor would provide assistance instead of pointing students to fix problems with his course by turning to Google.

One of the biggest problem of the hacking courses are the lab environment and virtualization problems. Most of the professional education services started to have their own lab environment. However preparing your own lab environment and doing real world exercises is possible now with Amazon AWS Kali Linux. Thanks for this awesome course to the FeltSecure Labs.

Although I am a user of the Digital Ocean Cloud platform, after opening a free account with AWS I was a bit lost!! Thanks for this course, just to learn how to setup and host on AWS even if you don't use this platform for ethical hacking, the course is well worthwhile. Highly recommended.

It was really amazing. Although I have no technical background and experience after the course I have a broad sense of how several tools like nmap and metasploit is working. Of course, it does not include all you need to know about ethical hacking but I have to tell it is really a great spot to take the first step. Thank you Emin!

I gained a lot of valuable knowledge on how to setup a pen testing lab in AWS. I only had issues with guacamole functionality. The instructor provided many great tips on securing the environment. I really enjoyed the course and found the information beneficial.

Really enjoyed the course. The quality of the video presentations including sound was of a very high quality and professionally done. The course itself covers how to setup an AWS amazon account, setup windows 2016 on your free AWS trier and install an exploit on that server so that you can use in particular nmap on Kali. After the student has configured Kali on AWS for ethical pen testing that exploit.Metasploit is the other framework used in this course to exploit the version of Windows 2016 provided by Amazon AWS. Apache guacamole is the client used as the remote desktop gateway using the RDP protocol. This is setup by using a script which is covered in the course and the reason why the RDP protocol is used instead of VNC or Microsoft remote desktop. All in all this is a very good course in my opinion.

Ive had been wanting to do this but i wasn't confident nor i understood much of aws, i was scared to rack up a big bill etc, this course is perfect as it walks you through it STEP BY STEP, no accents to get through and very well explained. Looking forward to more courses by Emin

It takes time and effort to run Kali on local devices. Thanks to cloud solutions like Amazon, I've learnt that it is now possible run Kali directly from web browsers. The course was really helpful in this respect. Clear, step-by-step, to the point. Thanks!
