Course Description
Take your colour grading to the next level in Final Cut Pro!!
If you've ever felt lost when it comes to colour work, I feel your pain! I know the struggle:
online tutorials that conflict or don't tell the whole story
not knowing where to start or what makes footage look good
unnatural skin tones
applying a LUT to find that it looks bad
I've designed this course to resolve all this and more. This is all the knowledge I wish I knew when I started out with video, (too) many years ago.
In this downloadable course, you'll get:
Step-by-step workflow giving you a structured approach to get pro results
Beginning to end walkthroughs
A solid understanding of the tools and scopes featured in Final Cut Pro
Foundational knowledge of colour theory and its application in Hollywood
Where to get the best free LUTs, and more importantly, how to get the best from any LUTs
Various filming tips to help up your game
As with my last bestselling course on the GH5, I'll be aiming to keep this updated and build on it over time. Right now it contains everything you need for professional results on the latest 2019 release of Final Cut Pro.
Hope to see you in there!

This is a fantastic, interesting, and useful course despite being from 2019. It’s easy to follow, straight to the point, and the proper concept of color correction and grading all came together for me. The principles taught in Sections 1 and 2 are so important and discussed very clearly and apply whether using FCP, Resolve, Premiere, or any other grading tools. Sections 3-6 get more specific into FCP’s tools to solve challenging or stylized grades. Be sure to watch the update at the end to see a better way to solve the biggest challenge in the Advanced Color Techniques section due to an FCP color tools HSL update that wasn’t originally available when the video was first made. Now that FCP 11 is out I do think it would be nice if the author made one additional update as it’s been 5 years as of this review and the course is still feels relevant today. There are other FCP color grading courses out there but this one by itself brings it all home for me!

It is a good match for me, but the instructor shows FCP views that are not necessarily what I see, so I have to figure out how he set the overall FCP frame the way he has it set. For instance, he shows Luma in the vector waveform, but I still haven't figured out how to get there - all I see is Luminance. Plus the horizontal lines he shows in the waveform aren't showing where he is focusing on those horizontal lines in his lecture.

I found this course to be beyond fabulous! I'm new to color correction and grading and this Instructor created monster good videos and explained the workflow process step-by-step and easy to follow. I needed a good explanation of the tools and he went beyond my expectations. Myles is skilled at teaching, and I can't say enough about how good he is as a teacher. It's as through he is literally sitting next to me guiding me through the process. He's that good. Amazing doesn't do this course justice. Just plain fabulous :)

The course is average because the videos shown by instructor are not available for practice. Instead the link to(random sample footage) B Raw format is given which is not compatible with FCPX.

This course is comprehensive and VERY well-explained and plotted. I just wish the video's quality is 1080 since this is a tutorial and at times, the texts in FCPx are quite hard to see. I got used to it eventually though. Other than that, I was blown away by how detailed and useful each video is. Massively better than the free YouTube tutorials that only tell you to click this and that without really explaining much why. Myles really did explain everything. I had to watch the Section 2 twice and take note. It was so jam-packed of practical information. No meandering too! Now, I have a workflow and this time, I'm clicking buttons with a good understanding why instead of just randomly as I was doing before from YouTube tutorials.

This course is great. If you want to learn how to control colors in your videos. Myles takes you to a lot of details about colors and how FCP helps you interacting with them. It is worth it. There were a couple of things that I would improve: record screen in smaller screen so letters won't blur, add practice exercises and would like to have same clips so we could follow examples better.

Great so far. Superb content expertly delivered. I'm watching most of the tutorials twice as there's an awful lot of detail to get down. I've finished now and can say it's the best course I've done on Udemy. Colour correction and grading was something I only dabbled with when I had issues and within FCP I knew I had a lot of tools, but they were a bit of a mystery to me. This course explains in great detai but also gives some quick tools you can use to hopefully improve your output quickly and gain confidence while you are filming and editing.

This course is extremely good. I had to revisit every part several times, because there are so much to learn in each of them. Myles explanation is very very good and to the point. So far, the best Udemy course I have experienced. In other courses, you kindda want to go back and revisit, maybe 10 to 20 percents. But with this course, every bit of it is very important. The only drawback is that, Myles has so few courses. I wish he has more courses.

I'm not one to use to hyperbole and rarely offer 5 stars as there is normally a lot of room for improvement. However, I can't really fault this. The pace is good. The instruction is clear. There is also an update on a new version of FCPX. If your new to FCPX, this course is great as it help you understand colour correction and colour grading. If you want to inprove, this course gives you elements that I, as a hobbyest will rarely use, but I am now aware of. I have continually logged in to Udemy to re-learn a topic from this course. In sum: I bought this course on a discount and believe it is one of the few courses that is probably worth the full cost.

Fantastic! I took some color grading courses before on Udemy (but not related to FCPX) but this one is more compact, more clear and efficent. I feel like I finally really understood the all-process, its meaning and its steps. I'm so happy I can stick with FCPX for the color correction and grading once the editing is done. Myles found the right balance between the fun of learning and real work, he manages to be very engaging while remaining serious and simple. More expensive than the usual courses on Udemy but definitely worth it, you'll figure out why real quick. Great job and thank you so much !
