Course Description
Learn occupational health and safety management and the fundamentals of auditing — through OHSAS 18001, the standard that defined health and safety management systems worldwide for two decades.
A note on currency, because you deserve a straight answer before enrolling: OHSAS 18001 has been replaced by ISO 45001 as the current international standard, and organizations no longer certify to it. What has not changed is almost everything this course teaches — hazard identification and risk assessment, legal compliance, emergency preparedness, worker consultation, incident investigation, and the principles and practice of auditing a management system. These are the foundations of every health and safety system, including ISO 45001, which kept the large majority of OHSAS 18001's substance. This course remains a solid, accessible entry into health and safety auditing; for the current standard's specific requirements, my ISO 45001 course is the companion.
The course has three parts:
The concept of health and safety — its history and its present, what led to its development, and its importance in the modern world
The requirements of OHSAS 18001, in detail — the intent of each requirement and what an organization is expected to do for conformity: hazard identification and risk assessment; controls to mitigate health and safety risks; legal requirements and the evaluation of compliance; the health and safety policy and objectives; emergency preparedness and response; competence and awareness; participation and consultation of workers; control of documents and records; internal audits; incident investigation; and management review
Management system auditing — the concepts every auditor needs: types of audits, audit principles, objectives, scope and criteria, audit documents, nonconformities, and the audit report
Who this course is for
Beginners looking for an accessible entry into health and safety auditing
EHS officers, health and safety engineers and professionals dealing with health and safety day to day
Consultants who design and implement health and safety systems or advise companies on health and safety
Anyone who encounters OHSAS 18001 in legacy documentation, older systems or historical audit records and needs to understand it
Condensed information you can go through whenever you have time — and return to whenever you need it.

I would like to thanks you about this course. in my opinion that course need for more details from safety such as , the signs for workshop (PPE), flammable corrosive and other signs. Additionally there is no some instructions that will clarify how you can protect your self when there is incident. also the storage of hazard materials from chemical or mechanical. In the part of hazard categories the mechanical is mentioned as equipment rotated that must be an example about mechanical hazard. In the end if I did not take any course about safety this course will never be familiar with me maybe I chose the wrong course that course it was not helpful for me as a technician. best regards.

Yes it has been a good course as per my perspective. I believe it could have been better, if one or two industrial examples were included for illustrative purpose.

sir has given a fantabulous explanation.and at the end quiz was totally concept based which was the most amazing part according to me.Although I joined the course to gain knowledge about oshas 18001 so that I could utilize it when I join as a professional, but in the midway when I came to know that till 2021 it is of know use after the publication of ISO45001 it's frustrating for me.

The instructor has very clear slides and annotates them with his oral presentations. The pace is perfect. I am finding the course interesting and am compelling to continue. The course clearly met its objectives. I have an excellent overview of OHSAS 18001 and what an audit would entail.

The rate of narration is good, allowing enough time for the student to assimilate both the written as well as the audible message. It helps that the video of the trainer is maintained in a minimized clip so as not to distract from the course content. The course material is also presented in clear, moderated tones and simple language making it easy for most students to follow. and understand the content.
