CompTIA Network Plus (N10-009) Course & Lab Guides (Udemy.com)

A decent course taught by an amazing instructor that nonetheless has some small issues. The instructor is an expert with decades of experience and communicates her deep understanding of the topic well. Her lectures are straightforwards, succinct, and leave few questions remaining. The activities are helpful and in-depth, using free software to simulate the exact topics and scenarios learned during lecture. Furthermore, the instructor has provided pre-setup "scenario" files for each activity, making following along and learning by doing a breeze. The only issues (beyond the instructor's clear but negligible bias towards Cisco) are with the course itself and its structure. Lectures are often arbitrarily cut into multiple parts, the file of provided activities contains far more files that the course actually uses, and activities occasionally reference things that we won't do or learn until later in the course. Ultimately, these are problems of editing and not content, and likely stem from this course being adapted from another course or class that was originally taught in a different format. The biggest problem was the practice test: it contains at least 3 blatantly wrong answers. After going back through and reviewing my results, I discovered 3 instances of the answers in the practice test directly contradicting both the instructor's lectures and themselves. Udemy's AI assistant that offers to explain to you why you got the question wrong is, of course, no help in these situations because it tries to explain why a faulty answer is correct, further confusing the topic. Ultimately, this course is fantastic and well worth the money, just be aware of the bumps in the road ahead of time.

This is one of the best courses I've taken on Udemy so far. The teacher explains the topics well, using slides and practical examples in Packet Tracer. Although the course probably covers more than is necessary for the Network+ exam, the knowledge gained will be useful in a real job. I highly recommend it!

I really enjoy the instructor's teaching style, which makes such a vast and complex subject both accessible and genuinely enjoyable to learn.

She connects the concepts well, by explaining how they work together and why. This helps you see the bigger picture which is what I needed in order to grasp the concepts.

I really appreciate how the instructor explains everything thoroughly and uses picture examples to reinforce the concepts. The activities that follow each lesson help solidify my understanding, especially since I’m a hands-on learner. I highly recommend this course and even though I’m not finished yet, I already feel confident that I can start applying some of this knowledge to my current Systems engineer job.
