SAMPLE QUESTION
Curious about what a high-quality question looks like? Here is an example from the DataFrame API section of the practice exams!
Question:
Which of the following code blocks returns approximately 1000 rows, some of them potentially being duplicates, from the 2000-row DataFrame transactionsDf that only has unique rows?
1. transactionsDf.take(1000).distinct()
2. transactionsDf.sample(False, 0.5)
3. transactionsDf.take(1000)
4. transactionsDf.sample(True, 0.5)
5. transactionsDf.sample(True, 0.5, force=True)
Correct Answer:
4. transactionsDf.sample(True, 0.5)
Explanation:
To solve this question, you need to know that "DataFrame.sample()" is not guaranteed to return the exact fraction of the number of rows specified as an argument. Furthermore, since duplicates may be returned, you should understand that the operator's "withReplacement" argument should be set to "True". A "force=" argument for the operator does not exist.
While the "take" argument returns an exact number of rows, it will just take the first specified number of rows ("1000" in this question) from the DataFrame. Since the DataFrame does not include duplicate rows, there is no potential of any of those returned rows being duplicates when using "take()", so the correct answer cannot involve "take()".

COURSE CONTENT

Spark Architecture: Conceptual understanding (ca. 17 %): Spark driver, execution hierarchy, DAGs, execution modes, deployment modes, memory management, cluster configurations, fault tolerance, partitioning, narrow vs. wide transformations, executors, Python vs. Scala, Spark vs. Hadoop
Spark Architecture: Applied understanding (ca. 11%): Memory management, configurations, lazy evaluation, action vs. transformation, shuffles, broadcasting, fault tolerance, accumulators, adaptive query execution, Spark UI, partitioning

I recently passed the exam and found this course to be an excellent resource for understanding the types of questions to expect. While some exam questions were slightly different, success ultimately depends on your grasp of the core concepts. I particularly valued the in-depth explanations provided in both the practice and exam modes.

I passed the certification last week with an 85% score—higher than I expected—and I have to say, these practice exams and their detailed answers were a huge help. The third exam, in particular, is definitely more challenging than the actual certification, which is great because it boosts your confidence and you can learn a lot from mistakes and answers. The detailed answers for each question were clear and well-structured, and the additional URLs provided at the end really helped me deepen my understanding of topics I initially had doubts about. Excellent job on the course, Florian!

This course is just Exceptional!! In order to give some confidence to the ones who are about to take up this course, Let me tell you I was just a complete newbie to Spark... I did one Udemy course and somehow landed up here.... My scores of this Practice test were below par which were 48%, 59%, 63% but I scored 86.66% in my actual Certification Exam... This is only possible if you take the precisely curated explanations of each question seriously...Florian has just exceled in his job here.... He makes you uncomfortable while you look at your scores of the practice test (That difficult the questions are) .... But he knows his job very well....He is just making sure you get a dream run while you attempt the actual test and everything looks simpler there....

When I was taking this course for practice I was not sure wether the assessment given in course will help me or not. But I opted this course as I didn't have many options. I prepared my exam with the help of assessment given in this course. On exam day the pattern of exam and questions were very similar to the questions asked in this course and with the help of this course I am able to pass my certification. Go ahead and buy this course if you want a great material to practise. Thank you Florian Roscheck for designing amazing course.

Great research and questions resemble and are generally tougher than the ones I faced on the exam. Problems faced in the course: Have gone through 2 questions in the set witch both the answers being right. Example. Even in exam, I got 4 questions where 2 options are workign correctly in databricks for me. mean(col) -> options split("col_name"," ") and split(col("col_name")," ") They expect one option to be correct -> BUT both work. Maybe you can specify which functions want the default parameter and types. Overall, really helped me score 91.66%.

Thanks for designing such a wonderful test series! I have cleared my certification exam today with 83.33% as result. This test helped me a lot to achieve this. The structure and difficulty level of this test series is almost similar to the real exam. Your detailed explanation for each and every options gave me a good understanding about my weak areas. one can attempt these 3 tests more than once to gain confidence for clearing the actual exam. Kudos to Florian!

Overall, this must be one of the best learning experiences on Udemy! The mock exam content is quite exhaustive and it helped me to identify knowledge gaps after reading the official Spark Guide. Most importantly, Florian is very engaging and he takes time to answer all of the questions, and above a simple answer, he also provides an in-depth explanation to bring the point home. This mock exam is a must-have for anyone who'd like to prepare for the actual exam!

I just passed the exam with 90%. The tests provided by Florian definitively helped me achieve this result, so they are worth buying. Having said that, I have to say that I'm confident I would have also passed only practicing the sample exam provided by Databricks. It is much more closer to the actual exam in terms of difficulty and the actual questions. The questions from my exam were almost identical to the practice exam from Databricks with only wording or replies slightly changed. Florian's test at times were unnecessarily difficult which he also remarked in some explanations (i.e. Test 3). Why then include them? Also, the explanations are a bit short for some questions. I wish they were longer and a bit more detailed. Finally, it is not possible to comment specific questions when taking the test which should be possible but is likely a shortcoming of udemy.

Hi guys, I just passed the exam and aced it with 91.6%. I found that the questions proposed here by the instructor are very relevant for the certification. While I did use Spark for personal project and read a substantial amount of articles about it, I found that these practice exam allow you to really focus on what you need to know. Cherry on the cake some of the questions here are pretty similar to the one from the real exam. The instructor is also pretty reactive and available to answer your question. So it is a 5 starts course for me.
