What you will learn
- How AI systems behave in real-world conditions and why unpredictability is a core design constraint, not a flaw.
- How to map user intent, system states, and model behaviors using behavioral diagrams and trust curves.
- How to prototype adaptive, generative, and variable outputs in a way that accurately reflects real AI behavior.
- How to run AI-in-the-loop usability tests to observe trust signals, confusion patterns, confidence levels, and retry behavior.
- How to evaluate and guide AI responses with UX-driven guardrails, constraints, and clarity requirements.
- How to collaborate effectively with engineers around model limitations, confidence scores, system rules, and safe outputs.
- How to design for overtrust, hallucinations, ambiguity, and long-term model drift.
- How to build AI interfaces that feel transparent, predictable enough, and genuinely helpful for users.

Course Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Designing AI products is no longer about placing a chatbot on a screen or styling a fancy generative feature. It’s about understanding how intelligent systems actually behave — the unpredictability, the ambiguity, the confidence swings, and the strange-but-useful suggestions that make AI feel both powerful and unstable. This course teaches you how to design for that reality.
You’ll learn how to map and prototype AI behavior, create workflows that respond to uncertainty, and design transparent, trustworthy interactions for real users. Instead of focusing on generic UX processes, we go deep into the design challenges that make AI products fundamentally different: handling variable outputs, integrating behavioral states, interpreting confidence levels, guiding users through confusion, and shaping trust over time.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore practical methods like:
AI-in-the-loop prototyping,
behavioral mapping,
trust curve analysis,
adaptive UI design, and
model-aware usability testing.
These approaches help you build interfaces that feel intelligent, safe, and human-centered — even when the system behind them is complex or unpredictable.
Whether you’re designing assistants, automation tools, creative generators, analysis dashboards, or decision-support features, this course gives you the mental models and tools to collaborate confidently with engineers, work effectively with model constraints, and build AI experiences that scale responsibly.
If you’re ready to move beyond surface-level AI UI trends and learn how to design real AI products — the kind used in workplaces, workflows, and everyday life — this course will give you clarity, structure, and skills you can apply immediately.
Enroll to level up your design practice for the era of intelligent systems.

Great part of the content is repetitive and it also has a great portion dedicated to a paid platform and set up on that platform. (notion) But overall the content is important to setup guidelines and process for the creation of AI tools

The outline of the course seemed very promising, and there were several sections about grouping different pain points AI could help solve, guidance for those who are not researchers who may have heard that AI can create personas and what AI can really do in this space and what it can't, and crafting interactions based on AI behavior maps and offscript moments and AI weak points. However, I was surprised it went into so much detail about prompt frameworks and the tools in terms of prototyping but about the practicality of how to run tests when input/output can be a little unpredictable. I would have liked to see an example get carried all the way through the course to see it end to end and more details on metrics/signals. There are several times the slides have too much on them to really read before it already moves forward, which is a problem for me in that I am a visual learner and want to see it while it is being spoken.

I really enjoyed this course—it was easy to follow, practical, and made AI feel much less overwhelming.

Good course for beginners, and new product designers. I was hoping to see more of "UX/UI designers transitioning into AI work or modernizing their skill set."
By Kara Kotwas on 2/13/2026
I found the content to be a good groundwork for establishing the role of design, as differentiated from engineering. I recommended this course to my team of ~30 product designers inside a large global technology company.
By Malin Jademyr on 2/10/2026
This was a very good course! Broad base content of designing AI products. Some errors or confusion in the quiz parts, where one quiz displayed 3 of the same answer option, and one quiz where the question was phrased in a confusing way in context of the Trust curve that was just presented.
By Alejandra Soto on 2/9/2026
The AI voice you're using is too monotonous. Some diagrams are pretty abstract and don't represent what is bein talked a out. It's really not the most engaging experience.
By Sandra Sreckovic on 2/5/2026
The course is very helpful; however, it is more suitable for beginners, but I am giving 5 starts because it is very interesting and nicely done.
By Anonymized User on 2/3/2026
I really would have loved it even more if the course delved into how to add AI to existing products, rather than greenfield design.
By Avriel Peter Lim Kuan Meng on 12/16/2025
Good overview on Ai. I like that some points are repeated multiple times throughout the course, and also for me to always remember the importance of how AI is user centric, and also that AI has to always go through continuous improvements.
