What you will learn

  • Ethical hacking involves a hacker agreeing with an organization or individual who authorizes the hacker to levy cyber attacks on a system or network.
  • In addition to proficiency in basic computer skills and use of the command line, ethical hackers must also develop technical skills related to programming.
  • Ethical hacking is a good career because it is one of the best ways to test a network. An ethical hacker tries to locate vulnerabilities in the network.
  • Many hackers use the Linux operating system (OS) because Linux is a free and open-source OS that anyone can modify it. It’s easy to access and customize .
  • Ethical hacking is legal because the hacker has full, expressed permission to test the vulnerabilities of a system. An ethical hacker operates.
  • The different types of hackers include white hat hackers who are ethical hackers and are authorized to hack systems.

It would be great to provide the the PPT or PDF files for referening the Key Topics in the form of cheatsheet. This kind of explination can be found on Youtube.

The nmap information was really insightful, and helped me grow a lot as a developer. I didn't know that nmap could be so versatile a tool, or could be utilized in so many different ways, and it's proving to be a useful tool for program development. I feel the VM setup section could potentially need updating, though. Setting up Kali Linux was a nightmare, as none of the instruction sets were able to help me finish setting up the VM. The instructions kept mentioning files that I didn't receive after downloading the VM materials; for example, the .ova files when attempting to use the VMware image. After several hours, I resorted to searching online for advice on how to set up a VM. Thankfully, it worked, but it really ate up into time I could have used to study the rest of the course.

I bought this course for Nessus and the other one as well but it got more of nmap which was not my intention to buy the course as there is another best seller for nmap that I already finished. Would expect a more full detailed course that saves my time of reading the 400+ page admin guide of Nessus. I also got the nessus courses now on their official website for free so no more investment on Udemy for the same course. I am giving this rating for the nmap content as he still did a good job with the theory covered in slides, however it would have been better to provide the slides for revision like other instructor provides else its a pain to rewatch all the videos for revision.

I thought the course was of value. I would have like an explanation of how I was to come by Meterpreter. I am sure it is a part of Kali. However the name first used for the program was 'msf' and doing a 'find' as root brought up nothing.... I will have to look up "Meterpreter" and see. A part from that I thought the course was worth the effort, and i have picked some useful information. Thanks

This was my second NMAP course on udemy because I always like to have more than one opinion on all my security and IT learning because no one knows everything. I have to say this has to be one of the most in-depth NMAP courses I have seen. This help me better understand what there is to NMAP than the other course. 100% recommend

I thought the content was good and a real eye opener. Too much time/effort went into installing VM's/applications etc... this is time that that could've been better spent on other area's, which inmy opinion felt a little rushed - i.e. Script searches and commands. Otherwise, pretty good delivery.

This is a great course. I initially purchased this course to brush up and ended up learning many new tricks. I really like this instructor's teaching style that immediately after I completed this course, I started searching for more courses taught by this instructor.

This course is excellent as it is. I hope Muharrem will create new courses for more advance audience. Also, I hope Mr. Aydin will create courses for other popular tools such as Qualys which is listed as requirement in mos of job descriptions.

Completing this short, impactful course was the smartest 11 dollars I have spent this year! The material was relevant and provided a great refresher for concepts I knew about but hadn’t exercised in awhile, and it introduced to me entirely new methods for scanning and imposing hacks. I will continually come back to the course to reinforce my understanding of the material. Money well spent.

By Barrack Bryant on 2/26/2018

Watching the pentest course makes it look like it is very easy. Complex security issues are told in simple manners. It is realistic too, instructor comes up with some hacking errors and other issues as in the real world and copes with them.
