Course Description
The “Financial Markets & Capital Markets Professional Course 2026” program offers a structured and comprehensive introduction to global capital markets and modern financial markets. It is designed to help learners clearly understand how key institutions, products, and market participants interact in real-world scenarios.
This program is ideal for professionals or those entering the industry who want to build a strong, practical understanding of how financial markets today function. It covers the full spectrum of instruments and applications, including fixed income securities, equities, and financial derivatives, without requiring prior in-depth knowledge.
You do not need to already understand how banks operate or how interest rates influence bond prices in the bond market. By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently discuss industry concepts, products, and dynamics from a high-level overview to detailed, ground-level insights.
This is one of the most comprehensive programs on capital markets, offering a solid foundation in quantitative finance, bond investing, and multi-asset market analysis.
Program Structure
The course includes 142 lectures (24+ hours of content), organised into seven key modules:
1. Capital Markets Road Map
Understand the core participants, issuers, investors, and intermediaries in capital markets, along with the instruments they trade and their real-world applications.
2. Fundamental Financial Math
Learn essential calculations used across financial markets, including pricing, returns, and yield analysis—critical for fixed income investments and decision-making.
3. Yield Curve Dynamics
Explore the construction and interpretation of yield curves, and their role in pricing fixed income securities, assessing risk, and understanding market expectations.
4. Fixed Income Securities
Develop a deep understanding of what fixed income securities are, the types of fixed income securities, and further learn the characteristics of fixed income securities in general, as well as discuss specific characteristics of specific sectors of the fixed income market.
5. Equity Products
Examine equity markets, including product types, exchanges, investor behaviour, diversification, and volatility within broader financial markets.
6. Futures & Options
Gain insights into financial derivatives, including futures and options, their pricing, applications, and role in financial engineering, risk management, and hedging strategies.
7. Interest Rate Swaps
Analyse interest rate swaps in detail, including structure, valuation, pricing, and their applications in managing interest rate risk across capital markets.
In all, there are 142 total lectures (video clips) and over 24 hours of total viewable content. This program also includes supplemental PDFs as downloadable attachments that you can use to follow along with each lecture's instructor.

This course is an outstanding transition tool for anyone looking to bridge the gap between theoretical finance and the fast-paced reality of global trading and investment banking.

The course content is very well structured and easy to understand. The instructor explains complex topics in a simple way with practical examples. The pace of the lecture is also perfect for beginners. I found the course very helpful for improving my understanding of the subject. Thank you for creating such a valuable course.

The course begins already with a very technical language. For an "immersion" I believe it would better use layman's terms, real world comparisons and more metaphors than what the lecturer does.

This course was really helped me to refresh my capital market concepts. Overall, the concepts are very well explained especially the bond maths and the Interest rate swap structure. additionally, i would like suggest to include one or two chapters covering the basics around the different rates widely used in markets like fed rate, repo rate ,LIBOR/SOFR, Mortgage rate, etc

This course is very helpful and informative. The instructor explains the basics step by step with real-world examples, which makes it simple to follow even if you are new to finance. I feel more confident now about the basics of financial markets.

Instructors are clearly knowledgeable and know the subject inside and out but the power point shotgun blast of raw information doesn't work well for me personally. I would appreciate a lot more examples and scenarios of why these different market mechanism exist and how money flows in and out of them. I guess I'm looking for more of an applied theory of markets vs. the dictionary definition.

Great course, could follow along with everything without issue. I did miss the end-of-section quizzes in Sections 6 and 7, I found them great in the earlier sections to confirm whether I was retaining the jist of the information, and didn't have that confirmation when they weren't there.

Doug is a very knowledgeable instructor and has much to offer. His teaching style is 'classroom-like', which motivated me to learn more. Although I felt like the PPT could be better in many ways, and things got repetitive in some places. The only place the course needs improvement is better delivery of lectures, otherwise, the course is full of new concepts to learn, especially if you are a beginner. I highly recommend it.

The instructor is able to explain the concepts in a clear and understandable way.Very well presented different types of financial markets such as the equity market, debt market, Forex market, and commodity market. The content is relevant and is taught in a way that is relatable to real life situations. This has helped broaden my understanding and has enabled me with practical knowledge of the markets and financial instruments. Thanks a lot !!
