I expected a more personal, in-depth view of this and less reading. But, it's fast and practical, so that helps!

I have been listening to friends and associates voice their problems for years, and now I have the information/education to be a professional counselor. I have failed at other businesses, but this is one that I think I can do successfully, and contribute to the well being of society and myself. Thank you.

I've just completed the FNB fully accredited Professional Counselling Diploma course, and I'm impressed! The online format made it easy to fit into my schedule, and the content was engaging and informative. The lecturing videos were clear and concise, and I appreciated the comprehensive manual (wish I could've printed it out, but digital worked too). What stood out to me was the emphasis on self-care and setting boundaries – a crucial aspect of being an effective counsellor. The course helped me refine my skills and approach, especially when working with new clients. As someone who naturally puts others first, I appreciated the reminders on maintaining healthy relationships. The course resonated with me, as I run educational programs on social media (TikTok) focusing on gender-based violence and femicide. This course has equipped me with the knowledge and confidence to better support those in need. Overall, I'd rate this course 5/5 stars – it's a game-changer for anyone looking to upskill in counselling or simply become a more empathetic listener. Highly recommend!

It’s great because you don’t spoon feed us and you are making us go through the course to extract, analyze and review what goes together and what is important. I find that shows whether a person is made for the subject or not. I remember university and having to show personal research and understanding and I find it hard here to stick to the absolute basics in answering the final assessment paper questions. I wish to add what I’ve learnt, my motivation and my additional research and reading.

This lecture was absolutely outstanding! The instructor’s teaching style was clear, engaging, and made complex concepts easy to understand. Real-world examples were woven throughout, bringing the material to life and helping me see how it applies beyond the classroom. I also appreciated the interactive elements opportunities to ask questions and discuss key points really made the session feel collaborative and dynamic. The visuals and supplementary materials were thoughtfully chosen and enhanced my understanding even further.

After searching for counselling courses for a while on Udemy, I came across Dr Karen's accredited course, it has been fantastic to learn and the manual provided with the course will be great to reflect back on. Overall a good experience and receiving my certificate was very quick and straightforward.

I am truly enjoying taking this course. I have already begun to resolve many of the issues that have plagued me from my past. In doing this, I am beginning to feel more self-esteem and more confident about my life and I am especially excited that I can eventually in turn be of a greater assistance to my friends, family and others in general as I council.

Gives a good foundation for a counsellor with detailed modules and well explained videos.

This is a well structured course with easy to remember training using specified words that have meanings by using the first letters.
