Expand possibilities and deepen fulfillment. Inspired by Carol Dweck's research. Certification available.

Our take

Based on the ratings of 51,052 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in July 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.

Diane Flynn's course is a short introduction to the fixed versus growth mindset idea from Carol Dweck's research. It runs about 64 minutes across 21 lectures and four sections, with three quizzes and a practice test. The middle section covers six roadblocks, from fear of failure to perfectionism, and a One Yes challenge asks learners to step outside their comfort zone. There are no prerequisites. It leans toward people at work who want a nudge, not a deep framework.

Reviewers mostly call it practical and easy to follow, and several say it changed how they think about feedback, setbacks and change. One liked the motivational quotes, and another found the teaching engaging and light in tone, though they wished the instructor smiled more. The criticism is sparse but pointed. An experienced reviewer found it too basic, a 2-star reviewer felt it was detached from real hardship, and a 1-star reviewer found it inefficient even after taking notes.

Value is easy to judge. Roughly 88 percent of about 51,000 ratings are four or five stars, and it was last updated in July 2025. The ideas are not tied to any software, so age matters little. It is paid, includes a certificate, and takes one evening. It is a sound first step for beginners. Anyone who already lives this way will find little new here.

Best forWorking people new to self-development who want a quick, practical intro to growth mindset and feedback.
Skip it ifYou already take risks, welcome feedback, and know Dweck's research; the material is basic.

Cons

  • A 1-star reviewer found it inefficient even after taking notes on the whole course

The course helped me understand the difference between a fixed and growth mindset. I learned practical techniques to overcome limiting beliefs, embrace challenges, learn from failures, accept feedback, and continuously improve my skills and approach toward personal and professional growth.

By Doug Porter on 9/18/2026

An interesting way to approach improving your mindset - showing that everyone faces these challenges in life and can choose to take simple steps to improve the way they deal with change and growth.

By Cindy Galliher on 9/18/2026

I loved this course. There is a lot of common sense that I never really took the time to think about. Fixed vs. Growth mindsets - who doesn't want a growth mindset? The idea that with work you can change your mindset is amazing and could be life altering for the person making the change.

By Vikas Dadoo on 8/30/2026

Reality is often far than spoken in the course. It's a textbook example of scholar studying poverty from his rooftop apartment.

By Karen Chua Siok Kiaw on 8/23/2026

Key takeaway: A growth mindset and perfectionism cannot coexist. Growth comes from trying, learning, making mistakes, improving, and trying again - not from being perfect.

By Paige Roberts on 7/20/2026

Interesting course. Mixed feelings on the AI role-playing. Overall info was useful and helped a lot with self-reflection. Teacher really helped pinpoint some solid strategies and things to think about.

This course was a great match for me. It helped me better understand the difference between a fixed and growth mindset and gave me practical strategies for embracing feedback, learning from challenges, and focusing on continuous improvement. I found the examples and exercises valuable and can apply these concepts both professionally and personally.

By Arpeeta Pawaskar on 5/3/2026

While discovering each facet of the growth mindset, i was able to identify where i am lacking, where my mindset was fixed - where i can do better. A big thanks to Diana Flynn - the course it absolutely positive and it focuses on taking small steps on improving yourself to do better. Yes, I have taken the one week Yes challenge and would update my progress in Q&A section. A big thanks for spreading positivity.

By Annaliza M. Malvarosa on 4/23/2026

Taking the Growth Mindset course was a meaningful experience for me. It helped me realize that learning does not stop once we start working, and that improvement is a continuous process. I learned that I do not have to be perfect all the time to be successful. One important lesson I gained from the course is that failure is normal and part of learning. Instead of being discouraged by mistakes, I now see them as opportunities to improve my skills and understanding. The course encouraged me to reflect on my weaknesses without feeling ashamed or defensive. The Growth Mindset course also helped me become more confident in taking the next steps for self‑improvement. It taught me to be open to feedback, willing to learn new strategies, and patient with my progress. Overall, this course reminded me that with effort, reflection, and the right mindset, I can continue to grow both personally and professionally.

By Elza Fawzy on 4/21/2026

I really love the horse and the worksheets and the suggested material with it. However, it took way too long to finish when it shouldn’t. It’s said 40 minutes total time for the course and it took me literally a week. Another thing that irked me too is that I couldn’t even accelerate the speed of the video so I have to sit it all out.
