This course is labeled Practical Ethical Hacking techniques which to me would refer to actual techniques one would be using and in reality it was more theory and high level explanations of how one could go about securing an environment and some of the tools used for this. Even when showing certain tools it was very high level and there really to me was no prerequisites such as in the beginning of the course to say you will be needing these tools and then they show example pcap captures that wasn't included as a resource. also a majority of whats here is deprecated content sure its good for very high level basic security knowledge but not to really show someone how to actualy conduct say a pentest. This is definitely more for maybe a network admin who might need more knowledge on the security side but not for say experienced Infosec/pentester who might be looking for better understanding of maybe some of the latest techniques. Some of the pdfs weren't even in the right area and really just an overview of that section in infosec.

A very detailed explanation of the theory behind the attacks is given. Some other courses just show how to use the tools but not the methodology behind them. On the other hand, the exercises here are not clearly explained. No explanation is give on how to install virtual machines and Kali or use the tools step by step. Similarly, the presentation and tone could be more engaging - boring listening to him speak so slowly. The monotone presentation switches you off after listening to a few lectures.

IMHO it's a good place to start learning ethical hacking. The curriculum covers a lot of CEH and CompTIA Security+ topics. I appreciate the exam notes as I'm rather goal oriented person. Though keep in mind that sth like 50% of this course is theory - required if you want to deeply understand the subject and pass the exam [not only repeat what the man says], so it's NOT that script kiddie friendly.

Molto bene!

The instructor is knowledgeable and explains the material effectively and thoroughly. I would definitely recommend the course even if you think you know the concepts already, because the instructor offers an insightful perspective that may help you better comprehend them.

Exactly what I was looking for, good overview of all realms of security with basic examples at end of lectures. As an IT Director I need training that is at my pace and gives me the tools I need to work on my own to develop the course skills. As a result of this course I'm using/learning the tools Kali-Linux, Spiceworks network monitoring, and SysInternals Suite, plus making changes to security infrastructure and group policies. Note: Little out dated but it does not lessen the courses value.

This guy is great! Excellent training materials, in-depth training, smooth transitions between various topics; lots of background, etc. He really takes you to the limits of hacking and network defending.

The course just got updated and tripled in content coverage. Literally. I am very satisfied with my purchase and I am excited to go back through and see what the new changes are. My past review was a criticism about the speed of the course presentation and word is that they have changed that. The authors listen to us wee kiddies and their course quality is even better now. Qual: cybersecurity mentor, expert witness on standby, admin

I enjoyed learning new stuffs I had no idea about. At least, its given me insights at to why certain protocols exists and the mind behind why they were created in those ways, being effective in one way, but opening up issues at other spots. Lots of Windows related stuffs were focused in this tutorial. Well, its obvious windows is much vulnerable in many areas, but at least, I wished OS such as Mac or Linux were touched. All the same, I think this course has been a good one.
