I think there are too many WAITING MINUTES in this course for applications and programs to be installed. It is important to know how to install them but too much time is spent waiting for them to install. Also regarding the delivery method of the payload, it is too simplistic to assume that the FIREWALL will be turned off. This is not the case most of the times in real environments so we do not know if the payload would be flagged by the firewall in a real environment.

course was good one but somehow somewhere in the video was so mush boaring

over all, the course has enlightened me a lot about how hackers think, plan and execute their malicious missiles. the instructor was generally willing to teach and did that well. i liked the course because its free and open to all those ready to learn. but on the other side ...during the introduction and setting up of the environment, i felt some steps were left out for total beginners in virtual machine setup..i think that should be done improved. thank you...

The course just has a step by step guide on how to setup veil framework and use it. Along with that it explains you what's veil framework and Metasploit framework and how to use them. That's what you will learn in this course. I guess that can be learned online via a simple google search so I don't think there's any need for this course. Also this is an incomplete course. Apart from these cons, the instructor explains things slowly, properly and clearly that's a good part of it.

This was a waste of time - simple youtube videos of veil-evasion + msfconsole will do what was taught here. 80% of class is setting up the kali tools on centos. what a waste of money and time. do not get it! This has nothing to do with actual malware imo.

It was good to find out about Veil-Evasion. This is now the Veil-Framework, or Veil 3.0, so the material here was out of date. The class was mostly about how to install Veil-Evasion on CentOS. This is not supported without patching CentOS 7 when you try to install the Veil-Framework/Veil 3.0

If this course was titled "Leveraging the package installer mechanism to deploy encrypted malware and viruses" then I would not have any comment, because that is essentially what was described. However, I expected the instructor to give at least a high level overview of the vulnerabilities of the typical client/server machines connected to the network (e.g. firewall settings, browsers settings, TCP ports opened, web application update settings I am guessing). Please don't get me wrong, I am not interested in hacking, rather I have good ethics and I want to protect my computing environment. Unfortunately I really don't have the benefit of intelligent computer support, and apparently publicly talking about malware is unfortunately taboo. However, I still need to understand the risks associated with using certain INTERNET applications. For example I need to make sure all upgrade packages allowed on my machines are MD5 measured, and not buy or install products that don't clearly describe and measure their updates. However back to this course, having a high level overview of vulnerabilities is what I was looking for, perhaps, I need to take another course or read a good book on the topic. Heck I don't know.

Overall the course is awesome. I have learned and enhanced my skill with this course. I hope in future I will try to learn more with similar types of courses. The trainer is good and his delivery part is excellent.

Helps you understand how antivirus can detect a known signature virus that is not encrypted, and how antivirus can not detect a virus that is encrypted.

80% of the video is just showing hot to install the necessary packages. Although I've learned the viel framework which is worth 18 bucks that I paid for. Lastly, the last step where he demoed the encrypted malware, it did not show if it was or was not detected by bit defender.
