Course Description

"Absolutely love this course! I am learning so much!" -Margaretha Elizabeth De Klerk

"Tracy's course fits well with positive behavior interventions and trauma-informed care practices. We teach so many children now who are disconnected from their caretakers and peers, who lack not only social skills, but also the skills needed to regulate their emotions. Highly recommend her practical applications for teachers to help children learn ways to change their lives for the better and to minimize disruptions in the classroom in a non-punitive approach. Well done!"--Becky Strassner

Are you a kid whisperer and can easily manage challenging behaviors? If not, then this is the course for you! Are you feeling frustrated with children's challenging behaviors and feeling like you are not giving effective behavior support to the children in your care? Perfect, you are in the right place!

As a teacher and parent, I sure felt frustrated, I felt like I was not helping the children who needed my help the most!  But then, I learned what causes challenging behavior and the steps to take to help the children in my care. Finally, I felt less frustrated and created calm environments where kids felt safe and were more cooperative. And why is this so important? Because the children in your care are waiting for someone to come alongside them and help them!

In this self-paced course, we look at challenging behaviors through the lens of survival behavior, or a survival state.

The healthier relationships a child has, the less likely they will be in the survival state and more able to thrive. Relationships truly are the agents of change. This is why every parent/educator constantly hears, "Build a relationship first!" Safe relationships are imperative in moving the child from the survival state into the open-to-learn state. In this course, you will learn concrete steps to support children's need for relational safety as the groundwork for solving children's behavior challenges and moving children into the learning state.

You will also learn a step-by-step approach to de-escalating an escalated child while supporting their emotional regulation.

This easy-to-follow approach gives you the confidence to help a child whose behavior has escalated. At the same time, it builds trust with the child while being their "safe keeper."

As a bonus, I have detailed three goals every parent/educator needs to know when correcting challenging behaviors, and you will learn the most overlooked strategy when helping children learn to self-regulate. It is probably not what you think.

In addition, this course includes precisely what you have been missing: simple and practical tips to help children and whole classrooms regulate their behavior, all based on neuroscience.

Does it make sense for you to purchase this course?

Because you have a strong desire to enhance your confidence in managing children's challenging behaviors and the desire to promote safety and connection with the children under your care, this course is the exact support you need and aligns with your goals.

We only have a limited time with the children in our care, so don't miss out on this helpful information.

Tracy Clark

Hello Parents, Educators, and Care Givers,

My name is Tracy Clark. I am a former teacher. I enjoyed teaching  Special Education, Third Grade and Reading Recovery.

I have also been a Site Director of a large after school program. After 6 years of coaching my staff on behavior management techniques,  I transitioned to a Behavioral Specialist and Learning and Development Trainer for the same after school organization.

I am grateful to have had the honor and privilege of  training thousands of teachers, parents, and after school staff on not only behavior management techniques, but also de-escalation techniques, and the consequences of adverse childhood experiences.  I feel that as Maya Angelo so elegantly puts it, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."

I wrote this course to serve as a guide and an invitation to the dedicated parents wanting to promote healthy brain development for their children. An invitation to understand that, as parents, we can focus on what helps our child's developing brain as opposed to hurting it.

Thank you for taking my course and trusting me with your valuable time. You are well on your way to promoting healthy brain development  and watching your child thrive!

It’s very helpful, how she explains. Every parent should attend to this course to understand their child’ why do they behave in a certain way. The knowledge, what’s happening to the brain is very interesting and how we can build a better relationship to our kids. Thank you.

Started out well, when describing how the child's brain works. But when it came to solutions, not really satisfied with what she offered. Also, the course is meant for younger children, and I was really interested in teens challenging behavior. I cannot send them to the calming corner, neither can I coregulate with them when they go wild.

There were a lot of important aspects that were introduced and made me realise how to deal with certain situations. I am a secondary school teacher so some of them do not apply but it was interesting to make me understand on how kids react and the why. It made me realise I can diffuse situations with calmness rather than shouting and I have already stat3ed using the options to the kids. Sit here or go out your choice...I am pleased with the course and its information. Maybe focus a bit more on secondary that kids are not throwing tantrums but are cheeky and disrespectful.

It was a great course, so glad i got it. The instructor knows her onion. The course would have been above great if only there was an assessment after each module or at least after completing the whole modules; it would be great to help reinforce what had just been learned and stir student thinking. I think Udemy can do better with the certificate, it looks so tacky and almost like a mere piece of paper, so plain. Having attended other online courses on other platforms, i must say the design of Certs here can be improved on to give them a more "cert worthy" and professional look.

All of us want to understand the kids, what is really going on in those curious minds. But often it is so difficult to react or to handle them on a regular basis. This course has made me understand what is the way to bond the connection. From examples to biology of the brain I want to really appreciate the time and effort Tracey has put in to build this course which we could use it on daily basis.

This course changed my thinking about why the children have this kind of dis-regulated behavior to how I can manage this behavior. It has also given me a lot of ideas that I can implement into my classroom and with my students to help change their brains from the limited “survival brain” to “thinking brain”. It’s a really constructive course that can help alter your teaching methods not only academically, but, also behaviorally.

This course reminded and thought me some new tips to regulate challenging behavior students in my class. But most importantly it reminded me that I’ve to start with calming myself first. We tent to forget this often due to the stressful situations. I made couple of notes and kept them in my desk as a daily reminder.

It was a very informative course about understanding and dealing with challenging behavior. I chose this online course because, as a teacher, I feel like I'm struggling a lot with misbehaving students. In most cases I'm aware that the child has a difficult background, however I can't find the right methods and tools to change their behavior and create a supportive environment. After listening to this course I feel ready to go back to school in January and try some of the tips I've learnt from you. Thank you!

By Yvonne Lilly on 9/15/2021

As a teacher Aide for the last 17, this course gave me confidence in the fact our school is on the right track. Learning the ‘why’ of the behaviour scientifically was especially helpful and so many useful tips we can focus on now. As mentioned , more and more children are starting school with lack of regulation skills so in a class of 25/30 this becomes so stressful for a teacher. Thank you so much ❤️
