Introduction to Business Analytics (Udemy.com)

How to Build a Profitable and Winning Company Using Business Analytics

Created by: 365 Careers

Last updated January 2026

Our take

Based on the ratings of 9,772 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in January 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

Randy Rosseel's course is a 4.8 hour introduction to how large companies use analytics, published under the 365 Careers banner. It is about the business side, not the tools. The nine sections cover stakeholder mapping, end-to-end processes such as Order-to-Cash, target setting, KPIs, benchmarking, analytics techniques, the project life cycle and a closing case study. Rosseel spent about 16 years in the Coca-Cola ecosystem, ending as a finance director, and the material leans on that corporate view. It suits managers, finance staff and newcomers who want the vocabulary first.

Reviewers are warm. Roughly 5,100 of about 9,800 ratings are five stars and another 3,600 are four. The sample comments are short and general: a good summary of how a business works, a solid base for strategy, and one student liked the energetic animated delivery. Complaints are mild. An engineer found the early material strange because it sat outside their field, and another reviewer said their own sector was very different. Low scores are rare, with fewer than 200 at one or two stars. The syllabus shows the technique coverage is brisk, with regression, time series and machine learning sharing a single section.

Updated in January 2026, it is a quick, low-commitment way in, and the seven quizzes and 24 minute case study give you something to check yourself against. Treat it as orientation, not skills training. If you need to build models or dashboards, pair it with a hands-on course afterward. For a manager or analyst who just wants to talk about performance measurement with confidence, it does the job.

Best forManagers and new analysts who want the business vocabulary of KPIs and process mapping before touching any software.
Skip it ifYou want hands-on Excel, SQL or Python work. There are no coding exercises here and charting gets one short lecture.

Pros

  • Clear walk through stakeholder mapping, KPIs and Order-to-Cash style processes
  • Short at 4.8 hours, with seven quizzes and a closing case study
  • Taught from 16 years in Coca-Cola finance, so the examples feel corporate
  • Rated 4.5 across nearly 9,800 reviews and updated January 2026

Cons

  • Regression, time series and machine learning share one 96 minute section, so depth is thin
  • No coding exercises or software work, so little hands-on practice
  • Large-company focus; one reviewer found the sector far from their own business
It gives a very good summary of the dynamics of a business environment
Adeniyi Sanyaolu, a student

All Levels fits, with no prerequisites, but the corporate finance angle suits managers and analysts best.

Course Description

When can we say that a business is successful?

Which are the techniques corporations use to monitor their performance?

What makes for an effective analytics project?

If these questions sound interesting and you want to learn about business analytics, then you’ve come to the right place.

This course is an invaluable journey, in which we will layout the foundations of your superior business analytics skills. You will start developing abilities that are highly necessary in any type of business environment, but particularly so when working for a large blue-chip corporation -running a complex business.

In this course, you will learn how to:

- Define business expectations

- Distinguish between a long-range plan and an annual business plan

- Perform stakeholder mapping

- Understand what business intelligence is and why it is essential for every modern company

- Carry out end-to-end process mapping

- Become familiar with the main types of end-to-end processes in a corporation: Hire-to-Retire (H2R), Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Source-to-Pay (S2P)

- Identify key value drivers

- What are metrics and what distinguished metrics and KPIs

- Perform internal and external benchmarking

- Understand the importance of the Master data function

- Carry out historical analysis, variance analysis, trend analysis, value-based analysis, correlation, time series, regression, as well as machine and deep learning analysis

- Determine which is the most appropriate type of analysis depending on the problem at hand

- Acquire an understanding of how to manage an analytics project

- Gain an understanding of what makes for a successful analytics project

All of this will be taught by an instructor with world-class experience. Randy Rosseel has worked in the Coca-Cola ecosystem for a bit more than 16 years. He has been a business controller, а senior manager of planning and consolidation, an associate director of planning and performance management; and, ultimately, a director of finance responsible for hundreds of employees.

Each of the topics in the course builds on the previous ones. And you risk getting lost along the way if you do not acquire these skills in the right order. For example, one would struggle to understand how to identify KPIs if they are not introduced to Stakeholder and end-to-end process mapping first.

So far, we have not seen other comparable training programs online. We believe that this is a unique opportunity to learn from a proven professional who has 360 degrees view of the analytics processes in one of the most recognizable companies in the world.
