Course Description
Introduction to Medical Imaging is both a beginner's guide and an expert's cheat sheet to the history, science, math, and economics of medical imaging systems. The course will cover common imaging methods used in hospitals today -- i.e., x-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound -- as well as discuss emerging techniques, such as photoacoustic imaging. The basic principles, instrumentation, and applications of each imaging modality will be presented with interactive lectures and comprehensive quizzes from an enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor. Assignments will test theoretical knowledge and demonstrate practical applications. The course will take approximately 5 hours to complete. Upon completion, you will command respect from your healthcare provider as a knowledgeable patron of medical imaging procedures.

This was a great introductory course on medical imaging techniques. The course material was easy to understand even without a medical background and the instructor did a very good job of explaining the concepts clearly.

This course is taught by a true professional, so as an upcoming college freshman, I was struggling with some of the terminology/concepts discussed because of the very little background knowledge I possess. In that regards, I would just say some more definitional/simplistic explanations with the more complex descriptions would be extremely beneficial. Overall, awesome course. Anyone thinking about taking it should definitely take it. No regrets.

Thank you Dr Bell for the great introduction! The physics of medical imaging is a bonus as they help to understand the principles of how different methods work. I recommend this to anyone who are interested in radiology or even machine learning for medical imaging. note: particles aren't actually spinning in the sense of Newtonian physics as it violates the speed of light, it's a prominent phenomenon as discovered in Stern-Gerlach Experiment for inhomogeneous magnetic altering of particles

A really great course for the one who is interested in learning basics about imaging methods. Also, good for knowing some newly emerging technologies in bioimaging. I got to learn new things in this course.

Hi, didn't get enough explanation of the Radon Transform Theta formula. Maybe go through those steps more exhaustively - which is the part that most people will struggle with, I would think. Thanks.

While I was happy to learn about the physics, math and engineering behind medical imaging, I would have liked to have seen more examples of medical images and how doctors use them to identify various diseases and medical problems.

Great course, great introduction to the subject. She goes straight to the point, which is something I look for in courses. I really enjoyed the theorical aproach of this course; it's something you don't get to see in many courses (at least the ones I've been doing in Udemy). It was a great journey!

Concise and to the point. She details the mathematical concepts and formulas used without being overbearing. This course strikes the right balance of complexity for an introductory course for medical imaging.

I learned a lot about medical imaging. I was shifted into a new job role dealing with medical imaging, and not having any sort of imaging background, this has helped make sense of things I am seeing on a daily basis at work.
