Introduction to Nuke VFX Compositing: The Essentials - NK101 (Udemy.com)

Teacher knows what he does but isn´t able to explain or teach anything. He does all kind of things without explaining why waht and how it works. Jumps back and forward suddenly slipping information. The footage he prepared is close to unusable since he stuffed everything into a single huge project where you won´t find anything. And of course he also doesn´t tell you where he´s working right now inside this huge completely confusing node tree.

This course is perfect for beginners who have no clue about Nuke, and even if you're familiar with After Effects, you'll do just fine. The course is a mix of theory lectures and project-based learning, executed in a practical way that helps you learn the new program effectively. Initially, node-based programs were confusing to me, but after taking this course, I got used to them. Alex, taught me most of the basic nodes that are essential for building a solid foundation in Nuke.

Awesome course, the only thing I would like to have in the future when I re check the course is, a little overview regard the nodes positions, specially when you put it as mask or on a side like some rotos, it would be good to be like a 100% sure of where you have to position the node and why. Very good course, explains everything in depth, shows examples of explanations, gives small quizzes, so you could see how well you understand the lecture. I had small issue during the course, my downloaded files, had a bug. So when, I tried to do things, it did not worked out at all, I had to open fresh file and import the files if I wanted to work on it. But it's no big deal, other than that, really great tutor, and even in the end of the video gives advice on book to read and other activities you should be doing in case you don't know. thank you Alexander for your effort.

Lot of great info and a really good overview of compositing concepts. Explains all of the fundamentals well and provided me with a great place to start! If I could recommend changing anything it would be a more intuitive way to think about when do we need to use premultiplication because that is still sort of unclear. Captain Dissillusion made a video about premultiplying recently but that video concludes by saying "it is just hard" so there is obviously still a lot of misunderstanding about it

Really enjoyed this course, and will be reviewing parts of it again to further solidify the material. I appreciate the instructor's approach as a lot of videos I've seen on YouTube will show you how, but fail to properly explain the why. This course addresses both which is crucial. As a beginner in not just Nuke but also general compositing, I would definitely recommend this to others looking to understand the fundamentals.

I just finish this course and I started from zero in NUKE, I didn't know anything about compositing and I learned so much, so fast and now I have a strong solid foundation of how NUKE works. Very good value for the price. Can't wait to move on the next curse now! Super recommended!!

O curso é bastante complexo no início (as vezes eu precisei voltar pra rever o que foi feito várias vezes), mas depois de insistir e rever algumas aulas várias vezes, passei a gostar e entender muito mais! No fim esse processo de rever e testar faz a gente aprender mais!

As a total beginner to Nuke I just finished the course and got exactly what I was hoping for, a solid understanding of the software, it's uses, my first composited shot and beyond that, an idea of what's to come and which potential you can reach with enough practice. I searched the web for months trying to educate myself on this topic and noticed that you either have to pay tons of money for a fully fledged degree or you have to rely on free content, which lacks heavy in guided instructions and tutition. This course hits the middle spot between the two. For a very reasonable price you get a broad impression of the software and a first experience in compositing. Looking forward to your next courses!

Alex's course is great for people who are new in the industry. I was already familiar with most of the stuff he was teaching but still helped to polish my knowledge. Very good course. Worth working through to the end when it comes together in a work flow. Reassuring to know that skills learnt in other software are quite transferable. Well worth the money.
