Control in process industries refers to the regulation of all aspects of the process. Precise control of level, temperature, pressure and flow is important in many process applications.

This online course introduces you to control in process industries, explains why control is important, identifies different ways in which precise control is ensured and illustrates the different set of instrumentation used to perform measuring tasks for temperature, pressure, flow and level.

The course includes extensive graphics, cut sections, process schemes and 3D animations to give you a virtual practical exposure on process control and instrumentation.

The objective of this course is twofold :

1. Break down for you all the process control and instrumentation principles into easily digestible concepts like feedback control, split range, controller tuning, transmitters, differential pressure gauges, etc…

2. Illustrate through 3D animations and cut-sections the main control instrument devices to measure temperature, pressure, flow and level like thermocouples, capacitive pressure gauges, coriolis flowmeters, etc…

The course is good and contain nice information, but I have 2 problems: 1.the terminology that used in this course are different compared to common terminologies in the field, but it's not a big thing. 2.the explanations of the instrumentation is not good enough, it can be better by be more organized and has some deep explanation. otherwise is a good course and language is clear.

Presentation generally is evaluated as "succesful" and is supported by adequate contents and samples. Subjects are presented from easy to hard, from basic to blended style. It would be better if additional explanations were included on slides. Best Regards

Great Experience on taking this Course, however it took me long to finish it as noting down all key important points during lectures was cumbersome. I advice you provide enough resources with detailed notes for each lecture, that will greatly facilitate the learning process and time saving.

This course is helpful for students who are fresh to industrial instrumentation and process control and want to get an insight into concepts present in the field. The explanation is simple and easily understandable. I expected an in-depth explanation of the various instruments and more real-life examples or assignments, but this course didn’t satisfy this. Overall this course was pretty good for a novice to the instrumentation field and competent, requiring a revision.

This has been a great way to get some insight on instrumentation, which is what I want to do. This course has given me so much content on this field and now am going all in.
