JMP Training for Statistics & Data Visualization (Udemy.com)
Learn Statistics, Analytics & Data Visualization with JMP Statistical Software

Our take
Based on the ratings of 1,132 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in August 2023. No course pays to be reviewed.
Brandon Fiorucci is a process engineer, and the course reads that way. It is a 3.4 hour tour of JMP 15 across 47 lectures and nine sections: importing and cleaning data, Graph Builder, control charts, distributions, then regression, hypothesis testing and ANOVA. The target is engineers, quality people and scientists who need to get around the software, not statisticians who want theory. The software is required, and JMP offers a 30 day trial, which is enough time to finish.
Reviewers like the tone. They call the teaching simple and easy to follow, and roughly 86 percent of the ratings are four or five stars. The complaints are consistent. It moves fast, it rarely explains how to read a graph or why a test is chosen, and a few people found the practice files did not match what is on screen. One Mac user wanted a warning that the walkthrough is Windows. Others asked for assignments and more depth, such as designed experiments.
The last update was August 2023, and one reviewer points out that JMP keeps releasing new versions, so the training material may lag behind. The course is also short, and some feel it stops too soon. Treat it as a quick start for someone who already knows a little statistics, and expect to read elsewhere for the logic behind each test. Total beginners to statistics may get lost after the early sections, as one reviewer did. As a first step into JMP, it does the job. As a stats course, it does not.
Pros
- Only 3.4 hours across 47 lectures, easy to finish in a few sittings
- Covers the path from data clean-up and Graph Builder through to ANOVA in one place
- Reviewers find the explanations simple and the instructor's tone friendly
- Includes control charts and publishing dashboards, useful for quality and process work
Cons
- Moves fast and rarely explains how to read graphs or why a test fits
- Last updated August 2023 and built on JMP 15, so newer versions may look different
- No quizzes or assignments, and some data files do not match the videos
This is my introduction to JMP and I learned a lot. If there's a part two to this course, I'd happily enroll. The explanations were good and easy to understand.
Beginner for JMP itself, but some basic stats knowledge helps. One reviewer found it too advanced.

Section 3: JMP Visuals & Graphing
Learn how to create individual value plots (scatter plots), bar charts, pie charts, parallel plots, heat maps, and more.
Section 4: Descriptive Statistics & Quality Control Charts
Learn and create tables of descriptive statistics on JMP. Create control charts such as Pareto Charts, X Bar & R Charts and IMR Charts.
Section 5: Distributions Overview
Learn about Box Plots and Histograms in detail. Then learn how to create distributions and what analysis you can take from it.
Section 6: Publish Dashboards
Post your finished analysis to the web in dashboard form to share with others. Save and automate reports for changing data.
Section 7: Linear Regression (Fit Y by X):
Learn about linear regression and dependent and independent variables. Learn how correlation coefficient can help you analyze future trends of big data. Create your own fitted lines on JMP using Fit Y by X tool.
Section 8: Hypothesis Testing:
Learn an introduction to hypothesis testing and what it means. Learn the assumptions for hypothesis testing. Understand confidence intervals and significance (alphas). Learn how to test to see if your data comes from a normally distributed population using the Shapiro Wilk Test. Learn Z Test and T Test through visual explanation and through JMP. Learn 2 Sample T Test.

Bit advanced for me, I was hoping for a more introductory course on jump, with hands on interaction. So, although it was informative, for the more experienced user, it wasn't right for me. I'll look into other courses and be back more than likely.

Good basics. Difficult to navigate without Windows direction and no heads up about user being on Mac. Had to look some stuff up. Goes a little too fast and doesn't really explain how to read some of the graphs. Very nice though and good tone. Didn't understand anything past Section 4 video 20.

I like the way you present , it is easy to understand. However, the download data for the jmp at times is not congruent to what you present. I do not have those values mentioned. But the gist of it i roughly get it, i hope. Thank you.

The contents are pretty good except the last set, which I normally not use. I hope have more on first several sections with more complex data. The video top seems blocked by Udemy line and the top line is the important one. I found this is a very useful course in general. Thanks

I am a beginner on JMP. After taking this course, I learned the basics of JMP. The lessons were well organized and the instructor showed the step by step method. The things I learned in this course will help me in my future as I work more with JMP.

Good course for JMP entry level user. Hope the author can add the JMP DOE section in the future. Two minor things: IMR should be individual and moving range not individual and moving average; Ha should be alternative hypothesis, lecturer seems to use both alternate hypothesis and alternative hypothesis.

Thanks Brandon for such a concise course on JMP. It was a great learning. I find this course very crisp and to-the-point. I could finish this course in 2 sittings. Only challenge that I faced was downloading the data-set from google drive due to network restriction to access google drive. Uploading all the data-set on Udemy portal could be easier for the participants who can't access google drive through their system. Thanks & Hoping to have one more advanced course on JMP with Brandon!!!

What an amazing course, it serves its purpose as a beginner course to learn how to use jmp. Explanation and lessons were absolutely clear and straightforward to the points. Definitely coming back for a second run of this course to further improve the understanding. All the lessons provided were necessary contents and definitely worthwhile to learn. May you consider adding more content under linear regression.

Great Course, I loved it. Really enjoyed the course. I have prior knowledge and practical experiences of using Minitab, but I truly started this JMP form the scratch. Mr. Brandon Fiorucci made it very easy to understand the lesson and have given practical examples or case studies for different topics. Lot of practice set and activities really helped to apply the concepts. Thank you very much.
