I started this course two years ago (I did it slowly in my own time at first haha). I have finished it now and I can honestly say it has changed my career path totally. I was a project supervisor when I started this course, while I was doing the course I started to get noticed by my manager as I said I was learning to write SQL code (after my manager needed someone on the team to write SQL reports for holiday relief). I was given reports to write and a year later I have been internally head hunted as a DBA/junior developer. Udemy has given me the tools to change my career prospects. I will say that having a job where I can use SQL to do actual real-life work really helped progress me. I really enjoy the challenges in this course (do really try to solve them on your own first). I must try stuff and understand them thoroughly before I learn. Keep thinking "what would I use this for as a... [DBM, developer, data analyst etc]" and use AI alongside the course (to ask questions, explain to you why you went wrong, why your version did not work etc) to keep you on track for your future career. It's not always clear how the fake database and functions would relate to real life reporting. I had an issue with rows vs columns and I used AI to support the learning and clear this up, then I could go back to functions and re-watch the videos. I also like how Jon writes out everything right at the beginning - this is invaluable for me (I am visual, methodical learner). Also, keep going and keep learning... it will all start to click. Re-do the challenges if you need to. I loved this course and I have enrolled on Jons follow on course he recommends. Thanks again!
