A good course which focuses on how to out-think competitors by coming up with “the fourth option”. It has resources to help diagnose the current level of competitiveness and then look at the long-term ideal vision. Some areas of focus included locking up input and controlling resource, create reasons for your customers not to leave, dominating the marketing though building economies of scale, forcing a two-front battle, and exploring other spaces. It included an ideas matrix which prioritises ideas based on ease of delivery and input to help sort ideas which are a waste of time from winning moves. It has good real-life examples such as Apple, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, etc. Links to business strategy and competitors as risks/challenges with focus on how strategies can improve the 8 Ps; Process, Promotion, Place, Physical Experience, People, Price and Product.
