Our take
Based on the ratings of 46 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in May 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
Shubham Pareek's course is a fresh, practical introduction to Kali Linux. It runs about 21 hours across 112 lectures and five sections: installation, Linux basics, then three practical blocks covering scanning, enumeration and web application testing. It asks for no prior experience, and the syllabus backs that up by opening with a step-by-step install. It is also young. Published in October 2025 and updated in May 2026, it has only 46 reviews and about 379 students, so the evidence behind it is thinner than for the big names.
Reviewers are mostly happy. Of 46 ratings, 36 are five stars, and the praise centers on clear explanations, good demos and labs that feel safe and legal to follow. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the speaker's accent so heavy up to roughly lecture 25 that they had to watch the screen to follow along. Another liked the examples but got lost on the pipe command and wanted a longer explanation. There are no quizzes or coding exercises, so practice comes only from the labs.
As a first look at Kali, it looks like a reasonable pick, helped by the recent update. Expect to watch and copy along rather than be tested. Anyone who already knows Linux well can probably skip the early sections. Newcomers should get a solid start, though the accent complaint comes from a single reviewer, so it is worth hearing the first lectures to judge whether the audio suits you.
Pros
- Starts with a step-by-step Kali install, so no prior setup knowledge is needed
- Reviewers call the explanations and demos clear, with labs in a safe, legal setup
- Practical sections cover Nmap scanning, enumeration and web application testing
- Last updated May 2026, and 36 of 46 ratings are five stars
Cons
- One reviewer says the speaker's heavy accent is hard to follow until about lecture 25
- No quizzes, coding exercises or practice tests, only the lab videos
- Small track record so far, with 46 reviews and about 379 students
An excellent, hands-on course that makes Kali Linux easy to understand for all skill levels. The explanations are clear, practical, and well-structured, making it perfect for both beginners and aspiring cybersecurity professionals.
Listed for all levels with no requirements. Beginners fit best, and experienced Linux users may find the early sections slow.

The explaination to everything is very good with the examples, but i have a problem with the "|" command. i didn't quite get it. i wish you explain it further. but in all you have done a really great job
By Zohar batterywala on 6/27/2026
the speaker till lecture 25 is having a very heavy african accent and nothing can be understand just by listening. every move of that has to be synched with display and then only can understand what he is trying to say. I have done course with italian , brazilian, portugese teachers BUT none are so IRRITATING as this.
