The aim of this course is to highlight to students that learning from self-paced video courses is different and harder than learning from in person in-class courses. The course/instructor delivers Pros: I gained a lot of "uncommon knowledge" about what to look out for, why many people are not as successful learning from a video course ( due to common subconscious attitudes, mistakes and misconceptions ), Then techniques are offered to remedy these barriers. This is useful knowledge not offered anywhere else. In fact I believe that Udemy should make this course free but offer Ms. Seberson full compensation for it as the course is an owner's manual for how to use Udemy's products...namely the courses. One thing that I found extremely helpful was the simple formula offered for estimating the actual time spent on course. Simple yet useful. Cons: The course is old and has apparently not been updated recently. Many of the resources of the course are offered as links to web-articles which are stale ( i.e. they don't open ). Finally there are one or two editing bloopers and gaffes which would be entertaining but actually diminish the professionalism that is projected elsewhere in the other videos of the course. Why 4.5 stars? The 0.5 was subtracted because of all the things I perceived and mentioned under the "Cons:" heading. Overall? Very much recommended. Also look at the number of students enrolled for this one....telling!
