*** INTRODUCTION ***
Welcome to my A-Frame course, where you will be learning how to create and test your first WebVR scenes on any device (Desktop and VR headsets) within a few hours!
Whatever area of design or development you work in, you have probably started getting your head around Virtual Reality for the Web (WebVR) and, if you haven't already, soon you will have to.
Indeed today the WebXR standard is incredibly well-supported on phones and desktop computers for almost all major headsets.
It’s clearly time for all creatives to get on board!
*** ABOUT ME ***
I am a designer with coding skills, and some of my WebVR works won awards in competitions and hackathons in April 2018 and March 2019.
April 2018
My entry "Epic Medieval Battle” was announced as one of the 3 winners achieving the 3rd place in the “WebVR Medieval Fantasy Experience Challenge”, the contest organised by Mozilla and Sketchfab.
March 2019
Working in team with an AR developer, we merged WebVR and AR technology for context-aware remote placement of content on 3D maps and real-time visualisation in the real world. Our project won the Community Vote Award at #SCAPEHACK 2019, the first hackathon organised by Scape Technologies in London.

*** WHY TO ENROLL ***
This is the most complete and detailed A-Frame course you can find on Udemy, and its content is structured to introduce you to all the topics, from the most basic to the more advanced ones, in a logical progression.
In each lecture, I explain the concepts with practical examples, allowing you to see the theory in practice. If you would like to have an idea of my way of teaching, have a look at the preview videos: you can watch the first 1 hour and 20 minutes of content for free!
Most importantly, I created this course in September 2017, when A-Frame was on v0.7.x, and since then I have kept it updated adding new content and information. Therefore you will have the opportunity to learn what has changed with its next releases.
Last but not least, as you will find plenty of examples and chucks of code online (e.g. on Glitch, CodePen, Stack Overflow) this course will also allow you to understand why some projects and experiments created using older versions of A-Frame may not work correctly when using the latest release.
*** CONTENT ***
By enrolling in this A-Frame course, you will learn how to use the Mozilla web framework for building awesome cross-platform Virtual Reality experiences.
The course is structured to cover all the knowledge that you need to get started with A-Frame and be able to:
Understand the basic syntax
Transform the objects in your scene
Modify the virtual environment
Load and display 3D models
Use standard and semantic animation
Interact with the objects (on Desktop and XR headsets)
Use locomotion and teleportation
Modify the controls
Load and play audio and video
Compose and register components
Use JavaScript to control entities
Test WebVR scenes on any device
*** ADD-ONS ***
For each lecture, you will be provided with the full source code that you can freely use as a template for your own projects.
The course also includes some extra valuable resources to provide you with:
Web links to resources used in the lectures
Web links to FREE 3D models and 3D modeling software
Web links to VR-related websites
Finally, this A-Frame course will be continuously updated with new content, projects, and resources, so you can think of it as a subscription to a never-ending supply of A-Frame training!

Danilo Pasquariello
Hi! My name is Dan, and I am a multidisciplinary designer with coding knowledge.
I started my career in 2000, and over the course of the years I have held several creative roles such as graphic designer, web designer, mobile app designer, and UX designer.
Since when I started dealing with web design in 2003, I decided to learn about coding to be on the same page with the developers, from whom I further learned about Front-End Web Development.
When I am not at work, my passion for video games pushes me to spend my time creating 3D models, designing and developing indie video games, and composing audio tracks and loops.
Nowadays, my skill set includes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am insanely attracted to WebVR, and truly believe in its potential even though this technology is at an early stage.
Being a self-taught developer makes me aware of the hard parts and the difficult topics when learning new skills, so I am excited to be here on Udemy to share my expertise with you!

Some of what is taught is no longer applicable in the latest version of a-frame but lectures are not updated

This a very interesting course, and you will be able to make a 1st person maze like a doom level running in a browser very shortly after completing the course. The only thing is that the examples work on the desktop, and maybe on android phones. Im not sure they work properly on iphone, and its no obvious how to make these work properly on later equipment such as the oculus quest 2. Maybe the course could eb updated for more recent hardware and web XR, which is apparently the new standard

An excellent intro to Aframe. The course exceeded my expectations and now I'm obsessed with Aframe! Although the course is a few years old now, the instructor occasionally posts updated code so that his lessons can be applied to the newer versions of Aframe. If you take this course, I'd recommend checking out section 10 early on so you can test the lessons in VR.

Really good choice. I quickly fell in love with this course. The teacher is doing a perfect job in sequentially and easily explaining what he is doing. Documentation and resources are wonderfully organized, the video is professionally composed including demos for mobile and VR-headsets. I am impressed and motivated to bring the new knowledge to practice!

Amazing instructions and step by step for even beginners like myself. It's nice to have before and afters to verify if you had any errors and the videos are amazing. The only suggestion I would have is on the texture lecture, I found it slightly difficult to find usable textures - ultimately I did, but it took some time for those who aren't familiar. Also, would like to learn more about DOM in the future for utilizing personal images. Looking forward to video - specifically as it relates to QR codes and/or activation with phone camera.

It is a great course which shows how to start with A-frame and where to find out more. This course contains a lot of links to resources related to this topic and necessary updates due to fast-paced developing technology.

Great course. I think this is the best introduction into A-frame and webVR you can find. And Danilo makes an amazing job in keeping the content up to date, which is admirable taking into consideration how quickly webVR and related frameworks are evolving.

Good introduction to the basics of A-Frame. Well done with a lot of added background information and sources for textures and tools. After proceeding halfway I am not sure if the code examples should better be updated to work with the actual version. They are written for version 0.7x and some important aspects of the examples don't work in version 0.9x any more. During the course progress I had several helpful messages exchanged with Danilo - he is listening carefully to feedback and he updates the material and changes the examples to the actual A-Frame version or adds code, how the example looks in the actual A-Frame. This way the examples are directly usable in actual projects. A big thank you to Danilo for the great work and continuing support.

Really enjoyed this course and playing around with A-Frame. The instructor covers almost all possible WebVR topics in depth and has kept the course up-to-date to include the updates from the latest framework and component versions. Loved that every new tag is explained from its default settings (explicitly typed out) to then be tweaked into something useful. Recommended!

Very detailed explanation. It is evident that the instructor cares about the content and is intimately familiar with its nitty gritties. Highly recommended. Danilo has been super responsive to queries and has given helpful and detailed guidance. I had struggled with a-frame before because of the volatility of the codebase, but this course has given me a better understanding of the platform.
