Wow, No Words, Amazing course, extremely engaging! This course is a classical piece of art. With the whole detailed necessary sub processes involved. I think that especially in our Time where the AI is everywhere and we are all tempted to use the short way for doing things... but then we loose our own satisfaction of creativity, and surrender to the AI common results. And this is exactly why this course is so useful even for the far future to come and this is why it can be defined as "Classical", together with the Indian classical Music that plays in the background at the beginning of each lesson.... Great... Great.... course and highly recommended, I've really enjoyed it, Shawn is an Awesome!!! instructor with a very special creative personality, BTW. Quite a long time ago i myself used to attend Indian Classical Music classes playing the Sitar at the AACM college in Sacramento ca. Where i met a great guy and a dedicated Sarod player Whose name was "Terry" and his last name is the same as Shawn's-- this course instructor, I should've probably asked him if they have any family ties or relation to each other.... Anyhow and in Anyway we encourage you Dear Shawn to keep create and provide us with such great courses, nisim

I haven't been working on logo design for very long and hadn't established a good creative workflow before taking this course. As a result I was having a creative block, and I couldn't seem to come up with any good logo ideas. Seeing Shawn's creative process from the start to the finish really reminded me to put the research in to find inspiration, and I'm now much more positive about going forward with my logo design journey! Thanks Shawn!

This course covers everything and uses a real client's logo design and requirements as the basis. I especially love how Shawn concludes the video (which I won't spoil... watch the video in the proper order) because it gives the real world of logo design. I took this course as a review of something I've been doing for 24 years and wanted to see someone else's process of logo design. I loved it. The way it is presented works for beginners as well, but most importantly it give a real work experience for the viewer/student.

What a great course! I'm trying to become a logo designer and have purchased other courses on Udemy which were good but this course is the most professional, well structured and well executed course so far. I feel like this course has taken me from beginner to intermediate, for example the creation of the style sheet is something I have not been doing and it's these little things that make you better as a designer and make you appear more professional to clients. All around a great course, would be happy to take another course from Shawn.

I've been around designing for a decade now, and I this is def Logo Design ABC. While I consider myself well taught, there's always something that can add depth to your knowledge of the (logo) design process. While Shawn focuses sharply on it, also gives away advices on basic level technical aspects for colour, vector understanding, file packaging and presentation that will really help people with their everyday job as designers. Of course there's some design decisions I would go other way, or even against, but those are straight and purely personal/intuitive on each one of us as we stumble across the process. On a final note, I think Shawn manages to successfully help standarize the step by step of what a correct logo crafting should be from scratch on key areas (helping us all designers work the right way). Really good.

This has been one of the more enjoyable courses I have taken on Udemy. Shawn is a good teacher, you can tell he loves/lives graphic design. It's not a long course, and time passed quickly while I was engrossed in the information packed lessons. If I had to say something against the course, it's this. Some of the work was done between lessons with the rational that he didn't want to bore us. As far as I'm concerned that is exactly WHY I purchased the course, to watch a master at work. But that is only a minor quibble, this course has been worth every penny spent.

A great course for beginning Logo-Designers. When I was a freshman in college, this course would have been exactly what what I had needed. It gives a good, real-life insight into what goes into conceptualizing, building, presenting and delivering a logo. That said, in some areas a little more depth would have been welcome. The program is roughly 7 hours long, one of which is pent looking over the sketches. I feel it would have been more useful to spend about 5 minutes on this and go into how sketching works a little deeper. Shawn is a very engaging speaker. You never have the feeling he is just reading a script, he is living his design. In some areas, like the color theory section, a script may have been helpful though. The explanations of the properties of color were a little spotty and showing some actual applications of color palettes instead of putting checkmarks on a color wheel would have been more educative. Maybe even with logotypes as examples for some bonus points! To sum it all up: great course, easy to follow. If you are a beginner or intermediate designer the knowledge you gain from it will elevate your game and save you years of trial and error. If you are already experienced your gain will be less substantial, but it will still give you a great repeat-run-through of the important basics.

This course is truly one of a kind a true hidden gem in Udemy. Shawn, has delivered the most comprehensive, insightful, course that spans the breath of logo design from concept, research, design, file management, concept development, refining the concept, implementing the concept and presenting the final product. That's a lot! Along the way he gives you an incredible amount of knowledge that would takes years to figure out. In this course you sit in the chair behind Shawn as he takes you step by step though the intricate creation process, replete with useful tool tips, design setups, and his 30 years of experience. This course is really incredible. I'm not a graphics artist, I took this course to learn how to design a logo to rebrand my company, and I accomplished my goal while exceeding it through this course. I learned how to use Inkscape and CorelDraw quickly, as I was watched Shawn explain what he was doing. I still had to figure out how the hows in my tool based on what Shawn did, but I wouldn't have known what to look for if I hadn't taken this course. What I also learned besides how to use a drawing tool is how to generate a concept, explore its nuances, and then develop it from start to finish and present it. It's so rare that you get to sit behind a professional like Shawn and watch him work. Shawn gives you a concrete workflow, how to research a concept, work with customers, provides examples of what he produces, and insights on presentation all in this course. I am an avid Shawn fan of his Youtube channel, plus I have taken his other course on Udemy, but this course I will always rave about. For me, this was one of the best courses I have ever taken where I knew so little about the subject. I know a hell of a great course when I take it and this exceed my goal and expectations of learning what I wanted to learn. Shawn has a unique presentation style that is laid back and easy to follow but in this class he has taken it to a whole new level. This class is the ultimate guide to designing a logo, developing a professional workflow, and learning how to use a drawing tool.

Very valuable insight. I've always loved your attitude/approach to a theme which always provides solid reasons and foundations, and not just technical 'how-to' tips which one may already know or find pretty much anywhere. The nice thing about this course is that often, even if during the lessons one may go like 'Oh yes but I know that' or feel that things are supposed to be done like that, they feel obvious and it's a no-brainer, at the end of the day, these things get to you, you processes them, feel them and find much more value, and a good reference for the future, good practice to go to and what separates an amateur from a professional. The final 'nugget' is priceless. I'm sorry that it went like that but... been there, done that. I know how it's like. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed this course. It was very thorough as to the creative process and the different steps without boxing us in with a specific style - it really is about learning how to best prepare and then design for every type of client you could come across. I would suggest people set aside 2 days to go over the content - time to pause, take notes, etc. I have a lot of things to update and change in my process, this course really helped give me ideas on how to better create and better organize as well as present things - something which was never really covered in the graphic design courses I took almost 15 years ago and which I had to try and figure out for myself - seeing how others go about it helps optimize our own way of doing things. Thanks Shawn! I'm looking forward to seeing what courses you'll be offering next.
