Course Description
Graphic facilitation is a method of using visual language to help describe and illustrate the idea that you are conveying. We are all visual thinkers and we can all draw. You can also draw! You don't have to be an artist to put several shapes together. With just a little practice, you will be able to draw memorable icons that will help you lead groups and individuals towards the goal. Graphic facilitation is a powerful tool that can be used to quickly understand the content, push new information into long-term memory and most importantly, inspire people to act.
The course consists of four main sections:
In the introduction section, you are going to learn how to get the most out of this course, what materials we are going to use and how the rest of the course is going to be conducted.
In the second section you will learn how to draw by using 5 simple shapes only. You will learn all the necessary components to create a memorable poster. We are going to start with icons, then learn to incorporate shades and effects in your drawings. After that you will get familiar with drawing faces and facial expressions, platforms and signs to indicate the place, arrows to show the process and text and speech bubbles for bringing clarity. Finally you will learn about color theory, the meaning behind the colors and how to use them in the most correct way possible.
The third section is completely dedicated to using your skills in practice. Here you will learn about the three main phases of a training session and how to use graphic facilitation for making those phases more effective. We will discuss specific examples and give you the templates that can be used in your future work.
The last and the final section is about creating your own visual vocabulary. In this section you will learn how to create icons of your choice step by step. This will enable you to expand your visual library and work specifically within your context.
One of the most important features of this course is that we are more than happy to have you on-board and guide you through it. The first steps, and learn to draw was very engaging and fun. Many great icons to get started, and to gain confidence that indeed, I can draw! However, I found the course lacking in more detailed guidance about how to develop your own icons and style, and creating more complex visualizations. It was always just "now try it yourself" - it would have been good to get a better idea of what to look out for, to see some variations of the same icon to get an idea of the range of possibilities, etc. The question of layout and managing space in more complex visualizations was also sadly lacking.

The learn to draw part was good enough (although i think there are better ways) but the skills in practice part was pretty poor. did not learn anything there.

I've chosen the course to get a first idea of learning visual facilitation. For this, it was perfect. In the end I came out with quite a lot of icons I can use in my daily work as an innovation manager and a good starting point for developing my on visual library from scratch. I can recommend it!

I think that we have been introduced to drawing in an easy way, then how to adapt them to the different concepts of a teach activity, so little by little I have believed not only that I can draw but that I can also adapt them to my formations. Excellent work

This course is really amazing. In a really short time I learnt some basic graphical representation and after drawing dozens of those little, simple things I get much more confident in using it. The core idea of this course is to make a graphical representation of your idea. Although my pictures are far away from perfect, I learnt how to show my thoughts as well as how to create new objects. Definitely worth taking this course!!!

I loved the course. I got a lot out of it. I don't know how to continue to improve from here. I am glad the course exists. I just don't think they should advertise that they will give you personalized feedback. When I messaged the instructor, I did not receive feedback which is fine; it was just unexpected due to what I read.

I liked the course, it's especially good for beginners. I felt like it needed a bit more about how to actually layout a flipchart (other than the invisible lines) but it's a very informative and useful course. I believe I improved my graphic facilitation skills, which was what I expected!

The course has been quite interesting as it was covering facilitation processes from very theoretical to practical parts. I think the way instructors are approaching is very engaging, friendly and educational. I would like to thank trainers for giving me chance to challenge my drawing abilities.

Yeah, I've never drawed anything more than children-quality drawings, so this is working quite okay. It seem quite structured / thought through. Good to start working early. Perhaps the idea start, finalise and participate could be start, participate, finalise. as one thing leads to the other. I think you're doing good, it's interesting to see how you develop the course, its design. Still waiting to be accepted to the Facebook-group though.

The course was full of content and I think it has really changed my approach to the processes. At least I am sure that the prejudice that I had about my drawing abilities is already challenged. I will use the developed competence in my work practice and I am sure my educational activities will be way more interesting and engaging. I would like to thank instructors for their amazing job and for contributing to my professional development.
