What are other students saying about this course?
Very thorough. Covers all the details without glossing over anything. Good consistent pace and nice short segments. Very diligent in always saying what keys he was pressing during the demos, which is often overlooked. Excellent course. (5 stars by Roger Holeywell)
Explanations are clear and coherent. This course is well structured and very-very useful. Thank you so much for your help! (5 stars by Martina Katalin Szabó)

Il corso è adatto a tutti, anche a chi ha poca dimestichezza con R. Consiglio vivamente il corso. L'insegnante, preparatissimo, mette tutto a disposizione, spiega lentamente e con molta chiarezza (ho preso quasi tutti i suoi corsi infatti!).

You really learn how to build graphics in R with packages ggplot2, lattice and R base. Very engaging and clear step by step explanations. I have attended to other courses of mr. Sandeep Kumar and I like his style of teaching. I would have appreciated a little more section with advanced graphics with ggplot2, but the course let you very able on how to look for help. Very recommended.

Taking this course after having already learned the basics of R makes it so much more enjoyable + more effective at understanding all new topics, commands. Overall it was great and easy to follow. I feel now way more comfortable visualising data and trying out all the different layers and options.

What I like that is different from other courses is that he explains every single layer and function used as well as how to structure the code. A lot of other courses do not bother to explain what specific elements of codes mean and simply just say "this is how you're meant to structure it". Sandeep explains exactly why so that when you want to apply it to your own data, you know what goes where. I did another course on data visualisation but I wasn't able to apply my knowledge because I didn't know how to adjust the elements to customise my graphs, I only knew how to reproduce the graphs we had done in the course.

I originally learned ggplot from datacamp but it felt very complicated without learning the basic idea of plotting graphs like this course. This was a very good beginner to intermediate course for data visualization. I would definitely recommend this to others interested in data visualization as this course helps build good foundation.

Engaging, thorough and really well-structured overview of all the graph types supported by R and a great taster of the advantages of lattice and ggplot2 over the base R package. Includes a really interesting use case of selecting a diamond using ggplot2 to analyse the data. The material is really good at introducing the overall structure of base/lattice/ggplot syntax and then adding details to each subject. The pace is very well judged. Although the dataset is well-worn, it is very appropriate for this course (it's large but has few dimensions). The course contains little real world advice and few best practices – go whilst it’s excellent as a primer to base/lattice/ggplot2 it does not really discuss how to use these in real world visualization or convey the author's experience. In this sense the course title is misleading because it is focused on lattice/ggplot syntax and semantics (where it is excellent), not data visualization. Some of the graphs contravene visualization best practices and were only included because the package supported them (e.g., use of shape to represent an ordinal variable in lecture 63) – better (more appropriate) examples should have been selected for this. Some graphs had bugs due to warnings that the presenter ignored (e.g., lecture 47). Some of the correlations discussed in splom are the wrong way around. Overall a good through overview of lattice/ggplot2.

Thanks Mr. Kumar, you did an exceptional efforts. The course is very straightforward and explained in detail. However, the example of diamonds in section 6 could be avoided as it make understanding the whole idea a bit difficult. All the best and will be waiting for your next course.
By Stephanie Wong on 6/19/2018
Overall, the instructor provided very clear instructions on the topic. It is a very good course who did not have understanding of ggplot2. I would recommend this course for a good foundation of ggplot2. For someone who knows about ggplot2, a more advanced course is better. The section on creating a pie chart could have more details on the mechanism of how ggplot2 creates the pie chart.

He knows his stuff not just as a coder but as an experienced Statistician. He has domain knowledge as well. With this combo, he is an example of experienced data scientist. I will definitely take more courses of him. Keep adding more courses especially in areas of Regression, time series and forecasting.
