It is a good course and the right one for me, as it helps advance my career further. However, the presentation could have been smoother. The presenter uses filler words repeatedly, and I was unimpressed at times. The presentation has to be better, as this is a course worth taking extremely serious due to its high demand in the market.

This is one of the most comprehensive US GAAP courses I've taken. The lessons are well organized, and the examples make difficult concepts much easier to understand.

Speaker first very boring to listen to, she seems to me reading from somewhere while talking , no follow through examples or files attached to the course

I appreciate EDUCBA taking on addressing the areas of US GAAP - a course like this is extremely valuable for someone who is inexperienced in US GAAP/Technical Accounting. I’ll address my rating from two perspectives, delivery/presentation and content. 1. Delivery/Presentation: It was frustrating not to have any documents attached to follow along with when performing calculations as well as no pdf document that includes the slides – considering these exist, this seems easy. The other issue is that too often the narrator misused words, or left sentences incomplete when explaining. It is very clear the narrator knows the topic, however. Lastly, a spell check and validation of correct acronyms is needed in the presentation. The narrator refers to the acronym correctly, but the slides show letters out of order. Generally, I would focus less on the historical aspects of the FASB evolution prior to its current iteration, however it is good for individuals to understand how new guidance under the current FASB iteration occurs and what the references to those guidances are (i.e ASUs, SFAS, etc…) – this was well covered. 2. Content: Considering the two most important topics in US GAAP from a general perspective are Revenue Recognition and Leases, it is a critical miss that no section was dedicated to ASC842 – Leases. There is an entire 2 hour section on NFP entities. My perspective: I highly doubt someone will land on this course looking for this topic. It is also buried deep within the course – this is both because it is addressed under ASC958 and I am guessing it was not part of the original course? I would have also appreciated seeing ASC606 distinct from being captured in the updated section under ASC605. Consideration should be given to inclusion of ASC805 – Business Combinations. Several companies, from private to large-accelerated SEC registrants, have engaged in, and will continue to engage in mergers and acquisitions activities. The course does address M&A activity from a consolidation perspective (ASC810). However, ASC805 activity is typically what gives rise to goodwill, which is ties directly to intangible assets (ASC350). It also addresses non-controlling interest, purchase price allocations (i.e FV of assets and liabilities), and income taxes. While, I am a bit more experienced in areas of US GAAP, I can generally say that I appreciated the course and still found this content to be very helpful in certain areas. It is a great course for anyone inexperienced or needs a refresher. I would recommend it.
