The topic on Metacognition and self regulated learning was quite new to me and it was very interesting to know the strategies that were suggested are flexible according to the specific subject and area of learning.

Very informative but also reassuring in that I am already using many of the strategies in my teaching. I have also learned a lot of new things, always good to be reminded that our mental capacity is constantly developing! Thank you. M Betts

It is very slow- to be reading a lot of text on a slide is not good use of video. The reading could be given as a text document and the video used to highlight significant ideas

The course has been a great tool to help me think deeply how am I thinking about my thinking and enjoying the process thoroughly. I am inspired to write my views on Metacognition and acquire the advance certification!

This course is good. It has made me to start reflecting on how to prepare my lessons and then ask questions to make my students to reflect deeply. I also now understand how to encourage my students to self-regulate their emotions and study - skills. Great course indeed!!!!. I will continue to practise more of metacognition and self-regulated learning to be more comfortable in the future

I am enjoying the course so far, I am taking part in it to deepen my understanding of self-regulated learning and metacognition so that I can effectively incorporate it into my new curriculum design for SEN children.

The 'lecturer reads the slides quite slowly and monotone. Videos to show real life examples in action would be helpful. An outline about which specific skills that I need to teach and in which order would be helpful. I teach in Year three and feel this course is aimed more towards secondary schools preparing learners for exams. Perhaps if this was the intent, it should be explained in the course outline prior to purchasing

really useful - like the way it makes reference to key texts lots of thoughtful activities - time to reflect and put leaning into practice built into the course. I particularly liked the section on whole school thinking and long term planning

I just finished this course in 3 days. It's a good course to get to understand what metacognition is. 1. The course is for classroom teachers to use in group settings. I'm a parent of a 12yo. Some materials I can't use directly. 2. The course is more on the theory side. I can now tell the difference and relations between metacognition and self-regulated learning. On the practical side, the thing I can use immediately is Lesson Wrapper. I'm plannning to stick a piece of paper in my daughter's notebook of each subject in school. She can fill in the pre-lesson and post-lesson Lesson Wrapper and we can go over the lists afters school so I know what's been happening in school and what's been happening with her learning on a daily basis. 3. I'm going to purchase the membership from its website and join the Facebook group. Hopefully I'll learn more practical metacognition skills. This course is a good start. I now have clear directions about what to do next.

Although I have yet to get the answer to one of my question on the difference between Autonomous Learning - Learner Autonomy, Self-Directed Learning (somewhat) and Self-Regulated Learning, there are enough information and tools for me to work out comparatively on my own. Self-Regulated Learning seems to be similar conceptually and for my audience/participants, I've been appending the concept of Self-Directed Learning and Autonomous Learning for many of the descriptions used here to describe Self-Regulated Learning. The repeated emphasis on strengthening learners' metacognition capacity and the abundance of shared resources makes this course outstanding for educators.
