Course Description

This course is about Spring Cloud Microservice development. This course is for the IT professional (and final year students) who have some professional experience (or no professional experience at all) and wants a short , direct, solid, to the point and deep introduction of Spring framework based Microservice development. It specifically eliminates all unnecessary theory and tries to link the student's existing knowledge in making him / her realize that a significant portion of Microservice development is not any different from regular java REST service development. The direct approach tries to reduce learning curve and speed up the learning processes. It demystifies Microservice development at a fast pace. For example, it stresses that after all, Microservices are services themselves. If someone is already confident in designing legacy monolithic REST services, a lot of those skills transfers directly to Microservice development as well. At the same time, it highlights specific areas where Microservice development has solid differences from legacy service development. This course thus, will focus on two aspects of the students background

1. What he / she already knows about service development and how that skill still is useful in Microservice development.
2. What he / she needs to know new about Microservice development.

We cover several topics including Spring Framework Dependency Injection, Aspect Oriented Programming, Spring Boot based Microservice development ,which will add confidence to the student and his/her ability to do Spring Boot, as well as some of the heavily used Spring Cloud Netflx stack of libraries including1. Spring Cloud Service Discovery.
2. Spring Cloud Config Service using Github3. Spring Cloud Config Client4. Spring Cloud Deteriorative Client Feign5. Spring Cloud Circuit Breaker Hystrix

Lastly, we use a custom loan application domain as a field to explore Microservice development.
Who this course is for:
IT Professionals and Students knowing basic Java, Maven and SpringAnyone who wants to learn Spring Boot / Cloud Based Microservice development

Binit Datta

I have architected, designed, developed and implemented software application systems across major business verticals including Manufacturing, Finance, Retail, Mining, Healthcareand others, over the past 22 years. I have had the rare opportunity of experiencing how excellently designed IT systems goes a long way to positivelytransform human lives across employees, customers, stakeholders and the larger society.Along the way, I have mentored a significant number of people and realized that using real life examples in teaching software concepts brings existing knowledge in the learner he / she caninstantly relate to. Someone who uses Google daily to discover local restaurants, should not have much difficulty in learning how one micro service can use a discovery service to discover others, for example. That is my objective in teaching at Udemy to help people learn at very fast pace and add cutting edge high demand skills rapidlyto their skill set. As a result, I will show you how to use what you already know from past work and life experiences to learn new things, fast!!

The program is good generally and really the instructor tries to demonstrate clearly the concepts with clear real life example. The only improvement needed is that the Windows users' are being left behind in the system configuration demos, and we find ourselves taking much more time figuring it out where the presented commands do not apply in the windows environments. It is good that he provides the pdf documentation to compensate. Otherwise, so fa so good

Video quality should be improved. It should zoom out while instructor is writing any content and focus on that content. course resources and course content in video are not matching properly. Needs more organization. The example which has been picked to explain micro-service is good but if video quality is improved and content is organized then it would have been the best tutorial.

The class diagrams are fine but for me pairing that with code examples would help so much more.

I only listened to first section and first chapter of second section. I am impressed. Professor Binit Datta's exposition is so clear, and he breaks down so well that I have optimism that I'll learn things from this course. By the way, I have some experience in RESTful WS, in Spring & Spring boot, So, let me hope for the best. Thanks.

The content is good. Some times the presenter tries explain in detail and in that process he repeats the point again and again which is very annoying. He some times goes fast in a hurry. The ppt are helpful. Lot of scope to make the lectures compact.
