Course Description

This course provides a second certificate completion for FREE from Rahsoft

Introduction to Modulation in Communication Systems RAHRF152 is an intro course of Rahsoft Radio Frequency Certificate and it is counted toward the certificate. In this course we have concentrated to simplify the Digital and Analog Modulation topics in a way which students would understand the practicality by providing examples and simulations using GNU Octave open source software. This is a great course to understand the fundamental definitions needed in digital and analog modulation in communication system.

This is a refresher course for me who was in this field for decades and I'm trying to get back into it. The material thought here are good and concise to the point.

By David Silva on 12/20/2024

The course is concise and interesting. The availability of code helps to better understand some of the concepts covered. However, some effort on the part of the presenter would improve the clarity and quality of the presentations.

By Eric Arnal Fort on 11/10/2023

Very informative, with a good mix of high level concepts + introductory mathematical approach. Recommended for those working in RF related fields, without being RF designers themselves.

By James Ashby on 10/4/2023

There is a lot of information here, and it is broken out well. The software definitely helps for visualizing things. I never thought my calculus class would be useful until now.

By Jose Reyes on 2/25/2022

The slide deck files for this lecture are in some weird format (it's not .pdf and/or word doc). Although the intro is overall good, it seems like the video for 13 minutes was quite too long to explain the benefits why we modulate. A good solid 5 minutes would have done the job to get the point across.

By Dejan Popović on 1/15/2021

Start with basic terminology and explanation with examples. Good explanation of modulations. Mathematics is still not so complicated. Phase modulation is still under shadow because it is the hardest for understand for now for me..

By Yves Lebrun on 9/3/2020

Thanks a lot for teaching this course. I learnt a lot about this Topics and the Octave software. I will glad to to course this course to advance my career in RF.

By Andrea Proverbio on 6/21/2020

so and so. I understand that subject is big, so it is difficult to shrink everything is a few hours, but sometimes I had the feeling you went too quickly on the specific target

By Brian Robinson on 7/13/2019

Excellent review of the course material. Only drawback, no quizzes this time (?). Since this course is more expensive, but has no quizzes, I have to get 4 stars instead of 5. But still highly recommended.

By Victor Ferran on 11/17/2018

This course did a very good job of covering a broad range of RF modulation topics and reviewing important details that help solidify your RF modulation schemes understanding. Sometimes a little wordy but the insight provided is invaluable. Feels like your at work and an SME is clarifying details for you.
