Just completed the setup for Security Onion. The walk through and explanations were right on target! It's refreshing to have such an easy time setting up so that I can focus on the actual point of the course instead of spending time troubleshooting the preparations!

After completing the labs, I feel like I understand how Security Onion works, also how to make good use of alerts and write reports, Thank you for the amazing course I also would love to have more in depth learning of Security Onion and Security tools that anyone in the Information and Cyber Security field can use and benefit from, because in this course some contents were fast and needed more experienced users, some new courses with step by step learning process and lab examples like this one would be good so beginners and amateurs can benefit Thanks again Mr. Jesse and looking for more courses Omar

I really enjoyed this course because Mr. Kurrus explains everything in a good-flow, step by step process. There were plenty of hands-on examples that had just the right amount of detail needed to understand what & why you're doing things to analyze network traffic and make assessments. Lastly, Mr. Kurrus is very responsive to any questions you might have, and he's very knowledgeable on the subject. Overall, great course. I fully recommend this for any intermediate level who wants to know more about how to analyze network threats.

Everything is going well except that I can't download virtual box for some reason, so I have to make do with another program called Virtual Machine Manager; this makes the first steps more complicated because its a different program and I couldn't find the Host Network Manager or the adapter so I had to skip a few steps.

This has been a good run-through of what I can expect using these tools. Much of what I learned from this course was from mild troubleshooting since I'm using the latest updates which has changed a lot of what's being taught here (don't get me wrong, this is usually the best way to learn). The overall structure is still very helpful and I'm already registered to take another course from this instructor. I've been in school for 6 years, passed a few cert exams, including Security+, and this is the first time I've felt like I've been learning something applicable to the field instead of high-level concepts. Thanks!

The video was good, and I understood the setup of the labs and such. I would like for the next videos to have explanations of how can this be applied to real world scenarios. Overall, I liked this course and have already told one of my buddy's about this course which he is enrolled already.

Interesting, useful, and fun. Might be a little advanced for absolute newbies, but you should be able to handle it if you are reasonably proficient with Linux. Wouldn’t hurt to have done some previous work with Kali Linux as well. I found it to be a great refresher course for network forensics and malware analysis.

I learned how to setup Security Onion and use custom policies and what to look for in Security Onion when a breach occurs. I learned about the different applications inside of Security Onion and what they do. Also learned about TCPDump and how to run it. I found the course very helpful and gave me a much better understanding of how all the pieces fit together when using Security Onion.

Could do with updating the course, but on the whole I really enjoyed it, the instructor was very quick at times, and I found myself viewing lessons a number of times, but I have learned a great deal from this course. Some of the explanations on what we were looking for in the packet data, were lacking at times and also slightly confusing, but this is a course I will revisit again. The intructors knowledge is extensive, just felt it was a little rushed at times.
