Course Description
Let me know if any of this sounds familiar...
Organic Chemistry – It’s a weed-out course, many students fail, you will fail, it’s hard, it’s time consuming, it’s complicated, you won’t like it, good luck (with sarcasm), you won’t have a life, you may have to take it again, it will wreck your GPA, it may keep you out of medicinal school…and on and on.
The story we hear about something dramatically influences how we see and experience something.
Now, I want to share with you a different story about organic chemistry. And this story is backed up by years of teaching the material.
Organic chemistry is simple and easy to learn. There is a very effective and direct way to learn the material that allows you to start using it immediately. No matter where you are in the class, there are simple and effective ways to immediately increase your understanding and grade.
Since I began teaching in 1998, I have been working on creating the simplest and most effective way for anyone to learn organic chemistry. And this course is what has come out of those efforts.
Well, let’s not waste anymore time...Let’s get to it!
Look forward to helping you excel in organic chemistry!

Let me start by asking you this…
Let’s say you just got the most recent iPhone. Now, do you want to read a manual on how to use it? Or would you prefer to start using it NOW?
Yeah, me too!
Well, I feel that organic chemistry should be the same way. You should be able to understand organic chemistry and start working problems immediately. And that is the point of this course.
I began teaching and tutoring OChem back in 1998. Since that time, the amount of resources available to help students is astronomical. However, the overall situation has not changed. Students still struggle with organic chemistry and many dislike the class.
Why is this?
The story about organic chemistry has not changed!
Here are a few you might have heard – It’s a weed-out course, many students fail, you will fail, it’s hard, it’s time consuming, it’s complicated, you won’t like it, good luck (with sarcasm), you won’t have a life, you may have to take it again, it will wreck your GPA, it may keep you out of medicinal school…and on and on.

It's been years I had O Chemistry so I took this class to review the topic quickly. I like the speed and approach to the subject. However, even if I was pretty good in chemistry once, there were moments where I would appreciate an extra schemes, illustrations/animations. What I want to say is that i don't think it is good as an intro course for a beginner (as in its overview). I struggled with understanding at the first time and had to repeat multiple times to follow. If I had no previous experience with the subject I would be intimidated and not able to follow at all. Definitely a good choice as a complementary course.

This is very good as a refresher course for those who have studied chemistry and would like to quickly review. I like that it is simple and easy to understand in most parts. It would help if there was some sort of pointer on the screen or a way to highlight the exact parts of the molecule you are referring to and if you slowed down a bit while speaking.

I havent had a chemistry class since 2005, but I am able to understand everything so far and I have not been confused yet.

This was really good, I am currently taking the second semester of ochem at a hard private university and the way things were explained in this are going to be helpful in passing the rest of my exams!

Organic Chem used to be my least favourite subject at university. Somehow you've captured the essence and underlying principles of it in a 1-hour course and made it really digestible. This is an exceptional course and I would recommend this to anyone doing Organic Chem. Only thing is that it doesn't go quite to the most advanced level, however it is only a short course so I was not expecting any different.

Fast paced, interesting delivery, loops back to previous content as reminder, engaging. Great overview to "pan" before zooming or deep dive into the content. The content could be split into an even shorter OChem "Wizardry" that only covers functional groups, reaction schemes, and resonance ... and the flow would be even more streamlined and helpful for overall context. A second "Ace OChem Tests" could focus on the construct of testing and discuss mechanism, short answer and synthesis questions ... with some tips and tricks on how to practice each question style. Overall excellent! Attitude and engagement make such a difference in continuing to "press play" ... THANKS!

Jason is a person who has helped me several times before, much earlier those lectures came out. I am lucky enough to still being in the need of some knowledge regarding the growth of my OC skills, this is why I bought this lesson. I have already learned things that will simplify my approach and my understanding of organic chemistry. Thank you Jason, you are the true Rockstar here!

Good course. I love ochem but don't entirely understand it. This helped. You do talk really fast though. I kept having to pause and rewind to get what you were saying. But that may just be me.

Ive always had a great interest in chemistry, especially OChem, however i never thought I'd understand such a complicated looking material. This breaks everything down for me and Its beautiful...
