Course Description
Computer security is one of the biggest job gaps in history, with a shortage of 3.5 million skilled workers needing to tackle a problem estimated to be worth $6 trillion. This is one of the biggest opportunities in history.
When you complete this course you'll have the knowledge to get a job and cash in on the $6 trillion industry!
Although this course covers practical methods for breaking into and securing systems, most of the lectures focus on principals which allow you to properly understand the concepts. This differs from a lot of courses on Udemy that teach specific tools that will be out of date next year. This course is designed to teach the next thought leaders of the industry... ones who are capable of making tools that make everything before it seem outdated!
This course covers all the topics of several of my courses at university. It's not long, it's light hearted, and doesn't feel dense... but all the content is there.
This course includes lectures on:
Core Security Principals
Injection
SQL Injection
XML Injection
JSON Injection
Cross Site Scripting (XSS)
Phishing
Brute Force
Security Mindset
Client Side and Server Side Attacks
Authentication and Access Control
Cryptography
Encryption
Hashing
Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF)
DDoS
Password
Deployment Best Practices
External Packages
Monitoring and Response
Honeypots
OWASP Top 10
And two assignments that will test your patience and show you what real hacking is like!

Daniel Slater
Hi, I'm Daniel, a software engineer and computer security expert who's worked around the world, from New York, Hong Kong, to Sydney.
When I was at university I took some cyber security courses and grew frustrated at the lack of quality resources and the overall quality of the teaching and vowed to create the materials I wish I had! 4 years ago I released a series of YouTube videos on Buffer Overflows which was met with incredible feedback, so I decided to make some courses on Udemy.

Great 4 hour dive into the key areas of cybersecurity. The instructor engages you with multiple quizzes as well as having good sense of humor. Keep it up!!

I think it a great course for people come to enter the info sec field , In this field i think learning all tools would not make a great hacker unless you have the mindset which will make you a great one

I think it would be better if the theory is complemented with some practical examples with code. Anyway, this course was great and I recommend it.

Even if I am just beginning of the course now, I can say that trainer can be explain the terms and touch the important points of attacks and its real life effects of them.

The materials were very good, and your delivery and excitement was very effective in keeping interest levels up. I believe there's room for improvement if there were more practical tasks on the assignments, such as the one in Section 1. Other than that, it was great!

Nice course though subsequently, i will suggest the course be backed up with practical presentation so that it wouldn't be just theories.

Pretty cool, gooooooooood job, Daniel. A very useful course. Providing material in an easy and accessible manner. It is understandable even to an inexperienced user.

I love the couch, his way to talk, jokes. Really good job. In general this is theoretical course and not much practical. So, if you would like to refresh your knowledge, this is really good choice.

Era o que eu esperava, o conteúdo é bom, porém ele diz que é em portugues e não tem legendas nesta linguagem. A legenda em inglês também não é boa

very useful and I will use the best knowledge I can from instructors who are fluent in explaining the material and very easy to understand by lay people
