PostgreSQL is one of several database systems, or RDMS (Relational Database Management System). PostgresSQL is one of several RDMS's, others of which are Oracle, Informix, MySQL, and MSQL.
All of these RDMSs use SQL as their language. Each of them has minor variations in the "dialect" of SQL that they use, but it's all still SQL.
Which is better, PostgreSQL or MS SQL?
Both are excellent products with unique strengths, and the choice is often a matter of personal preference.
PostgreSQL offers overall features for traditional database applications, while MS SQL focuses on faster performance for Web-based applications.
Open-source development will bring more features to subsequent releases of both databases.
Who uses these databases?
Here are a few examples of companies that use PostgreSQL: Apple, BioPharm, Etsy, IMDB, Macworld, Debian, Fujitsu, Red Hat, Sun Microsystem, Cisco, Skype.

There are some glitches in the exercises, if the data returned was the same but then returned as failed this took me a while to figure this out it was quite annoying to find the answers were case and space sensitive.

No one discuss about errors, this tutor is brilliant

A good training course in SQL that (mostly) flows logically from one subject to another. However, some of the quizzes/tests seem to be out of order, asking about subjects that either appear later, or don't seem to be covered at all. Still, a very helpful primer on SQL usage & syntax.

This course is a good introduction to PostgreSQL for myself as I already have knowledge using MSSQL. There were a couple of slides that had incorrect query criteria that should have been corrected or identified in the video for the learner not to be confused. I believe it is during the MSSQL video sections where the typing was too prominent for me and I could not 'mute' the heavy-typing during those videos. The downloaded resources (I wish the PDFs were organized properly by section instead of Lecture # as I did not find them organized). Thank you for the PostgreSQL sections!
