I really enjoyed this course and I learned a lot. I found it easy to understand and follow and I am very glad I took it. The improvements I would make would be more assignments and followup. I would love to have my videos looked at and have more feedback and even to be able to see the videos other students made and be able to make comments and have them make comments on mine. I still haven't submitted my second assignment and so technically didn't finish the course (although I did do it) One other thing is I would love to see more sample videos maybe a short video after each section showing how to do some of the effects with them applied in the video so we can see how they are used. For example the pleasantville effect or the motion tracking mask. This is probably unreasonable for this course but I would love to learn how to use keyframes and learn more about adding music and making the music match the video. Thank you so much

Too much time showing head shot video of instructor explaining things. Would rather see more "how to do" screen capture with voice over or example videos. Showing action clips versus vacation clips would also help. That would provide more opportunity to see how some of the other transitions are used effectively and with good purpose. I do like that you are going into detail to explain various ways to do things and under what circumstances. It is really helping me to get acclimated to the software. After going through the entire course, I feel like I got my money's worth. I felt more could be covered in the amount of time if you would have eliminated a lot of the intro footage. Would have liked to see more features covered in that time whether in PowerDirector, ColorDirector or AudioDirector.

This turned out to be better than I expected, cheers Phil. Have been playing around with PD for a while now & produced what I thought were okay travel videos (mostly made up with photos with some video) but now I'm not so confident they are so good anymore, will need to revisit. Have other holidays to put together & after doing this course my mind's opened upto new ideas & ways to tackle them. Highly reccommend this course to anyone. I enjoyed it & the first course on a PC I've seen to it's conclusion. I spend all day on PC's during the day so getting me on one after work speaks for itself. Could've rated this a 5 but nothing's perfect in this world ;-}

If you are a brand new beginner to video editing and PowerDirector, this is time well spent. While the course does not go real deep, it does hit almost all the major features. With that as the main goal, I would give it 5 stars; however, as someone with a bit of experience, I kept wanting to go just one more layer deeper (knowing that going much deeper would need to be done in an advance class, which this does not pretend to be). While I do want more, I do believe that I got my money's worth and did not waste my time. And I'm a better user after the class. Thanks.

Mostly because I'm just thrilled to death that someone has created a Udemy course having to do with Power Director! You have NO idea how long I've waited for a course that will "hold your hand" through the entire process from start to finish. Thank you! Update at half-way mark: I'm not a total newbie to Power Director. However, thanks to this course, I have positively reinforced what I already learned through hit and miss, AND, I have picked up a lot of short cut tips, AND, I have had a bunch of things clarified that I have puzzled about for years. I continue to be impressed with your easy-going, natural approach to teaching this subject matter. As a professional educator myself, this is very refreshing. Thank you again. Hope you develop more in-depth looks in the future of what can be done with Power Director. I am looking forward to taking more online courses that you are teaching!

I have owned and occasionally used PowerDirector for many years, but found its extensive feature set discouraging both to learn and to use. This course systematically introduces every feature in a way that let me see the problem(s) addressed by each, and the options to solve those problems with PD. However, in many lessons, the instructor flicks the cursor over the screen too rapidly for me to follow; my solution was to pause the lecture, search for the cursor, then continue. Please consider using a larger cursor, and moving through the steps more deliberately. Some of the conventions for saving edited files still escape me in some of the tools used, a lack of clarity, I believe, in the application page organization and layout. This course completely clarified the features of PD for me, and I am now very confident that I can successfully apply every program capability.

Although I did not know how to do multi-camera editing, I was in a situation at a local music venue where I had a Sony a6000 in on hand and a Sony a7rii in the other. Difference focal length lens were on the cameras and I hand-held the cameras for some of the songs that were preformed. The left and right cameras were pointed at different band members. I went home and came across this training. Over the course of the weekend I learned how to blend the two recordings, stabilize, trim, and do additional edits. Wow, my final produce was pretty good. Can't wait to get out and shoot some more dual camera video this coming weekend! In particular, the stabilization is awesome as you can control the degree you need. I was using the feature in YouTube but it is only one setting and sometimes heads got cut off! I am very happy with the SW and surprised how helpful the training program is, especially at such a reasonable price.

I purchased PowerDirector having no idea just how powerful it is. While there are tutorials online, I liked the layout of this one. Phil takes you from complete beginner to advanced user in a natural and intuitive way. The videos and audio are clear. The instruction is easy to follow and logically sequenced. And the instructor is engaging without being annoying. I thouroughly enjoyed this course and I learned so much that I am going to be able to apply to my future projects. And my time using PowerDirector is so much more efficient now.

This course has been a really useful introduction to the key features of PowerDirector. I started out with no prior knowledge or experience of video editing at all, but now, I have a good grasp of the functionality and am confident to start creating my own masterpieces! The information is presented clearly and at a good pace, following a logical progression. Great stuff! I'm looking forward to following the PSP course next, to hopefully enjoy similar success with Photo Editing!

I was pretty experienced with Power Director 14 before I enrolled. Of course, I was self-taught and always doubted my methods. This course helped me confirm some of my methods and modify others. I also learned some new skills. I am not sure how a new user would benefit from this course. Production was top-notch. No complaints. Yes, the content was comprehensive and informative and presented in a friendly manner. Phil is obviously very well acquainted with Power Director. The end of the course is a little confusing. I was not sure what to expect. I think that the instructor said there was another video and there was not.
