Course Description
Welcome to the best resource online for learning to work with SQL in python.
Python and SQL are two of the most in-demand skills in any data-related or data-adjacent role today.
In this course, we'll use SQLite, MySQL and PostreSQL to build three projects of increasing complexity that will give you a solid foundation in using SQL in python applications.
Over 17 hours and 50 coding assignments, you will gain practical mastery of, not only SQL and python, but also tens of programming and computer science concepts.
In building these projects, you won’t be copy/pasting code. Instead, we will be writing code from scratch, and we will be writing lots of it.
This "forced" practice will help solidify your understanding of the concepts and techniques we cover. Each assignment will be followed by a detailed solution and explanation.
By the end of the course, after 3 immersive days, SQL and python will be on your resume!
––––– Structure & Curriculum –––––
· Day 1: SQLite
· understanding connections, cursors, transactions in sqlite3

Hi! I'm Andy, a freelance software developer and capital markets consultant based in Toronto, Ontario. I've spent close to a decade working with data, using code to automate business workflows, and consulting financial institutions on data-intensive applications.
Although I'm comfortable in a number of programming languages, for me nothing beats python on a ROIE (return on invested effort) basis. It is my go-to language in my consulting work and also my focus here on Udemy.
Aside from teaching, I specialize in consulting financial institutions in post-trade services technology.

Thank you very much for the helpful course content. I’ve learned a lot from this course. However, I found it a bit difficult for beginners. I hope the teacher can consider simplifying the explanations and providing easier solutions for newcomers in the future. Thanks again!

Andy is a master of his craft and elegantly goes through all the layers of the project, builduing the complexity along with necessary explanations. I absolutely enjoyed this course and highly recommend it!

Good explanations and content. I recommend taking this course (Andy's courses so far totally worth it). I've decreased a star because I felt like both 2nd and 3rd projects could be much shorter - some of the challenges was the same thing over and over (Andy could give a list of "challenge ideas" and a final code in the end). Also, I think a section about SQL Alchemy could add to this course,(while Andy chose not to use it). Andy mentioned it in the end of the course - he decided to go "raw" by a pedagogic decision. I think an additional section about SQL Alchemy could add a lot of value (consider making another course just about SQL Alchemy since it's really good and in use library.

Very good, quite advanced approach to the subject of databases in Python. In addition to the main topic, the author provides a lot of interesting information and practical possibilities for creating applications. It is a pity that SQL Alchemy is only mentioned and a short example of SQL Alchemy is missing.

Could've been more beginner-friendly

Great Course, seamless, needs a better compendium in the prep videos, but once you get the hang of it the instructor strings the dots !

The Author is progressing rapidly, but at the same time giving all information relevant to the topic being taught.

This is probably the best course I have taken on Udemy. Andy's teaching worked for me as you're not babied but not assumed to know how things work already. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The course will take you longer than 3 days unless you have full days to spend on it. It takes you from simple to the machanics of how something like SQLAlchemy works. Throughout I was frustrated, elated, delighted and desperate. It was fab! Day 3 is quite intense and dealing with the dynamic SQL in a verbose fashion is quite daunting, especially if you think about real world systems and multi-join tables, nested queries and so on. It would quickly become overwhelming. That said, the course was full of good info and well worth the purchase. I did submit a couple of questions which never had any response from the author so I knocked half a star off for this as I would assume some real beginners may struggle a bit especially of questions are not answered timely. Bottom line I thought the course was ace and I bought the authors other courses. Recommended
