Course Description
Welcome to the best resource online for learning and mastering data analysis with pandas and python.
Over 32 hours, 10+ datasets, and 50+ skill challenges, you will gain hands-on mastery of, not only pandas 1.x, but also tens of computer science, statistics, and programming concepts.
We will break down, understand, and practice hundreds of methods, attributes, and techniques in pandas and python that will fundamentally change the way you work with data.
In The Ultimate Pandas Bootcamp (2022) you won’t be working with outdated versions of pandas, writing repetitive commands on the same boring dataset. Instead, you’ll learn pandorable and pythonic solutions to interesting, real-world data problems, while working with many diverse datasets that range from wine servings, video game sales, and SAT scores to stock prices, college salaries and more!
Data analysis is an applied science, which is why in each section, you’ll stop and practice what you learn in dedicated skill challenges, followed by detailed solutions where we often consider and compare alternative solutions.
Data analysis is one of the most in-demand skill across all industries and an increasing number of roles. And python is increasingly the language of choice.
Pandas is the wonderful open-source library that is the embodiment of those trends: based on the python programming language, pandas is the de facto data analysis library in the python data science community.
––––– Structure & Curriculum –––––
Over more than 31 hours, we'll cover everything that pandas has to offer, from manipulating series and dataframes, to merging datasets, handling time series, aggregations, filtering, sorting and much more!

Andy Bek
Hi! I'm Andy, a freelance software developer and capital markets consultant based in Toronto, Ontario. I've spent close to a decade working with data, using code to automate business workflows, and consulting financial institutions on data-intensive applications.
Although I'm comfortable in a number of programming languages, for me nothing beats python on a ROIE (return on invested effort) basis. It is my go-to language in my consulting work and also my focus here on Udemy.
Aside from teaching, I specialize in consulting financial institutions in post-trade services technology.

Instructor talks in a very low register which makes it very boring and you sleepy, he could be more excited about teaching a topic? It is like listening to someone who is dpressed and is reflecting on his life choice after few drinks. Instructor hasn't answered questions in last 2 years. Video topics might seem interesting but when he is talking it feels like time is passing in 0.5x speed. Also, poor choice of jupyter notebook background, who uses Dark Gray color for teaching someone? Stick to white for the love of god, your delivery is already boring and dark background is just the icing on the cake.

After completing this course, my final rating is 3 stars. The positive is Andy Bek's presentation which is well paced and clearly spoken. I also thought that all the data sets he used were fun and got me playing around beyond what we did in the course. The biggest negative is that the course content was not updated since 2020 (course pandas version is 1.0.3). While the material is still useful, and I learned a lot, whoever wants to take the course needs to realize that some features explained either will be deprecated or have already been removed from more recent versions of pandas (mine was 2.2.2). Another negative is that any questions asked in the Q&A section are not answered. It seems that there is no longer any ongoing support for that Udemy component. If you take this course, I highly recommend using Google Colab to work along with the instructor. Not only will this prevent problems with installing anacondas (which I had plenty of), but it will also help you with all those soon-to-be deprecated or deprecated features: Whenever a problem occurs, Gemini comes to the rescue, explains the error and suggests a fix.

Ample opportunities to practice, clear explanation and cherry on top a lot of data provided for working with csv, excel and html. This course will certainly make one to be a data analyst if one immerses on it. Along the way you learn the python fundamentals. Just a suggestion: needs updating since it is python3.13 version and pandas is 2.3 version some of the methods are deprecated. That would make the course uptodate. Thanks for such a great course.

(Jan-1st-2024) I'm Andy's student in another course - OOP. Fell in love with his teaching and now fell in love once again with this course - PANDAS. I highly recommend Andy's courses since they are the most valuable GEMS on Udemy. Hard to find them all-in-one-place, anywhere online. I'm now well synced with his teaching style since it's mostly similar to what I've encountered in my novice coding journey i.e. hitting road bumps and finding a variety of solutions and learning along the way. But Andy makes the learning curve seem very simple. I've also bought his other courses (existing) and would look into buying this NEWEST course - FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMMING WITH PYTHON.

This was exactly what I've been looking for! I have worked with pandas for a couple of years now but this course has showed me so many things I did now know *and wish I had known earlier, since it would have saved me many hours of struggling with datasets... It has showed me just how powerful pandas is. I really liked the structure of the course, and the style of teaching. It really helped to see how not to do it, then how to achieve it and last - how to do it even better and more efficient. I especially enjoyed the little "asides" and the choice of interesting datasets to explore. :) I've already bought another course by Andy Bek and look forward to it.

This is a great course in pandas. Andy is a very good instructor, he explains everything in detail. Starting from the simplest examples and gradually progressing to more challenging material. His knowledge is spot on and his teaching methods are terrific. I highly recommend this course for anyone who is learning ML and Data Science. I appreciate all the time, effort and patience Andy has put into this course, thanks you so much!!!!!

Thanks Andy so much for putting this valuable course together! You are great as an instructor, topics are well-designed and really learnt a lot regarding pandas. I am proficient in SQL and knew basic Python but after completing this course, I can confirm that I have good hold on Pandas as well now. Love how the input data were all available from andybek.com, making the course easy to follow and hassle-free. Only suggestion I would make is: It would be better if you could provide a cheat sheet for this course to brush up concepts any time later in life. Thanks again and your knowledge transfer is much appreciated!

This is an excellent course. It moves from basic concepts to more complex concepts in a logical and stepwise manner. The instructor, Andy Bek, clearly knows the material inside and out. He presents the concepts with many clear examples. Further, the examples are "real world", so you see meaningful applications of what you are learning. There is a "rapid-fire python fundamentals" section that refreshes your understanding of python (or gives you a quick understanding of the python principles that will be used in the course). I recommend it strongly. Some modules introduce data analysis capabilities (e.g., matplotlib visualizations and web scraping) which are very helpful. The instructor follows the course and addresses questions and comments from students in a timely and complete manner. He even provides his email address, should you have follow-up questions. This course is not for the timid. It is a bootcamp. It has many course modules that extend over many hours. Expect to take 2 to three months of time if you take notes, review, and use anaconda or colab to follow along. All actions that I would recommend. Put in the time and effort. You will be glad you did. I am.

It started in a bit of a rush (although, there are tutorials for python-foundation... nonetheless, one has to have a bit of experience in programming languages to pick up things smoothly) but the later part is very well structured and easy to follow. Edited after completing: Commonly used pandas features & important topics were covered and I really enjoyed every bit of it. I really like how Andy gets deep enough to provide extra ways to solve difficult problems. A well-structured course for anyone who wants to get started with data analysis.

Impressive depth. Massive amount of very useful content. Well-broken up into bite-size pieces. Well-designed "skill challenges". I also like the sprinkling of humor and brief detours to follow his curiosity when interesting results show up in the example data sets ("Hmm...I wonder what brains are made of?" :D ). I'm only about a third of the way through, and this is my first Udemy course...so I don't know what other Udemy courses are like...but I'm learning a lot from this course of Andy's. Thank you Andy and Udemy.
