Provides very interesting insights as well as it shows different actions to take for every process done in finding the research answer from the research question. This is helpful for understanding deeply the procedure to take, angles to see, measurements to ensure to make a reliable and valid answer from the research question formulated. It also provides enough examples to understand the pattern of answering the specific topic discussed and enough tips to provide of answering different condition when conducting a research paper. Recommended for deeper understanding of the important part of research paper, especially in introduction section.

I really liked how the course is a perfect mix of the basics and real world research statistics, bridging the gap between understanding statistical functions and actually putting them to use to understand research in general but also the statistical bit in particular helping u know why you do what you do, how to do it, a free stats software that performs the functions, how to use that as well, how to interpret your results and so on.

By Andreas Hejslet on 4/27/2025

Very nice course, and I would absolutely recommend. Only "disadvantage" from my perspective is that the course primarily focuses on significant differences. It does have a lecture about interpreting a nullresult, meaning the case where you do not have a significant p-value. It is however not unusual to do equivalence testing where your research question is focused on determining if e.g. a pill treatment og injection treatment are equivalent.

“Research Methodology From A-Z: A Step-by-Step Guide Through Research Design, Data Collection, Analysis, & Interpretation” is an excellent course that truly covers all the essential aspects of research methodology. From formulating a research question to interpreting the final results, every stage is clearly explained with practical examples. The course is well-structured, and the instructor breaks down complex concepts in a very easy-to-understand manner. Whether you're a beginner or just need a refresher, this course provides a solid foundation in research design, data collection techniques, analysis methods, and how to draw meaningful conclusions.

This course is a balanced and careful introduction to research design. André has selected typical examples of design which are repeated throughout the course in order to solidify your understanding. Explanations are clear and concise. Naturally, under the time constraints one cannot cover as wide a field as research methodology. There are a lot of resources to download and data sets to practice on JASP. Tutorials on JASP has been a nice addition and I hope an in depth course on JASP will follow in the future. Also, very helpful for me were the tutorials on G-Power software to calculate statistical power because I lack the time to delve into this aspect. Overall, a very good course which I honestly suggest to students who need an introduction to research design. My field is medicine.

By Thomas Samuel on 3/16/2025

I love the explanation of use of experiment design and research methodology. Only thing is we are told that we should use certain tests and approaches based on the variable set, while this is very helpful, I think a more nuanced approach of teaching a person how to choose a relevant design based on a particular problem and the reasoning behind it would be more widely applicable. For example if i wanted to check the difference difference in means with just 2 groups, I could also use z test and t test according to the specifics of a particular research question, not just rely on F-test, at least when it makes sense.

This course is great. It made my understanding descriptive and inferential statistics easier. I also got to do data analysis with the help of two softwares which I never used before. Now I am confident about my data analysis skills. Although I need to read a lot of research papers and hone my skills to actually apply this course practically, I feel I am a different person than how I used to be before. Thank you instructor for making this course and sharing your knowledge.

By Hamish on 8/1/2022

This is a very comprehensive and well thought out course for anyone planning to research. Particularly useful is the tree diagram that tells one which test to use. One minor quibble is that I prefer the t-test over the Anova for simple before and after comparisons. However, the Anova must be used for more complicated designs, which is often the case. This course filled in some gaps in my knowledge and gave a useful set of principles that can be applied to all research designs. Recommended. :-)

The course does not take your hand and guide you to success. However, it could never be done by almost anyone. Instead, it takes your hand and guide you in a simple and humble way to understand the basics of research methodology and it's methods. In my opinion, it's a simple, quick and good course for newbies. If you are more or less experienced, it might not be as useful, but for a rookie, it might be the kickstart. Check it's content and give it a try if you want to. As for me, I think it helped in many ways as my methodology class in college was an absolute disaster. Thanks, Klapper, for helping a little bit.
